I'm convinced Phil is already on a payment plan but is lying to everyone in a major attempt to increase his income.
Taxes / bills seem insurmountable at this point. All we can really calculate is how much DSP is pulling in (assuming nothing else behind the scenes) but we know his debt is starting to catch up to him. Minimum payments won't kill him, but he knows 20%+ interest rates will. With the income he used to make he probably got flooded with credit card offers and constantly transferred balances, only paying around 3% on the total as a fee but buying himself time with typical 18 month 0% apr offers* (that will usually back charge interest if you fail to pay).
He needs to get his earnings back up or else he'll struggle convincing a bank to refinance him. I don't know if a HELOC is out of the equation as he'd never put his ego over his house as collateral. If he can refinance he can take care of all his 'bills', taxes, $1k/month CT condo payments, etc. and knock his rates down to ~5%.
He's always talking about payments. He knows what he can afford to pay monthly on debt and won't care about the principal balance because he'll tack everything onto a credit line, especially if the interest rate is significantly lower.

Let’s look at this situation as black and white as we can. Let’s say you are a Phil fan for whatever reason. Fine. No judgement here. For the last 2-3 years though there has been a massive increase in begging. No long time fan or even casual fan can possibly deny that.
Now any fan old enough to understand the basic principals of money, bills and taxes would at some point have to start questioning things. They can see he makes bank, it’s posted everywhere what he makes on average in a day/week/month/year.
At what point do these fans stop for a few minutes and begin questioning it all? When does the average fan who has maybe donated $100-500 over the course of a year or two start wondering where exactly his money went?
When do these fans start speaking up and asking for proof, or tax returns? I like to know where my money is going, but I’m just lowly pleb who works a real adult job in the eyes of DSP. Jealous of all he has.
The blind follow the blind (or dumb follow the dumb, whatever). These people obviously believe everything he says and don’t question what their money is being used for. They also don’t care about enabling a, let’s face it, dangerous lifestyle.
A fool is easily separated from their money. Somehow they have all congregated towards Phil.
Out of the 3 big gamer cows (DSP, LTG, Wings), if you have to throw your money at a scumbag at least give it to Wings. That dude is at least actively trying to better himself and when he isn’t being trolled to fucking death, he is actually pretty happy on stream lately. Phil is deteriorating at a breakneck pace and LTG will never change.
