I've never understood his "I can't drive because of my bad back" excuse. If sitting on his ass for multiple hours a day doesn't hurt his back why would a 45 minute drive.

To hear him tell it as part of said back injury he has some sort of spastic nerve that could cause his leg and foot to involuntarily press the gas pedal causing him to speed out of control.

We'll ignore the fact that we have hours upon hours of recorded, raw footage of him and we've never once seen the activation of this nerve or of him complaining about it.

Well he does do that weird swaying back and forth when he does his begging videos, perhaps that has to do with his back injury. Also he does that weird thing when he sits in his computer chair and shakes it back and forth

D$P is in desperate need of funds, but taking the afternoon off today "to do his taxes". The question is, why he cannot prepare his taxes AFTER his 2nd stream? Everyone I know who lives in the US prepares their taxes either by themselves of via a tax service ( personal CPA or preparation service like H&R Block ). I do not know of anyone who took time off of work to do their taxes. Then again, he's the only person I know of who takes time off to go grocery shopping with his significant other. Additionally, he was off yesterday. Surely there was time during that day/night to prepare his taxes. If, he 'gets tired' and cannot finish his taxes tonight, he'll be taking tomorrow night off as well. According to D$P, he has to hand over his information to his "Tax Attorney/ CPA the 28th. He had all month to prepare, but decided to wait until the last moment. Why am I not surprised...
Tinfoil hat time: The reason D$P demands folks email him about game donations and eschews games being given to him directly is so he can buy them with money they send him that he can write the purchase of the GIFTED game(cough PS4Pro & 4k TV which he admitted on stream having bought off Amazon) off as a business expense. I'm not a professional, but I'd call that Tax Fraud.

On a side note, hot off his 4th place (which he crowed about) during his Tetris 99 stream, a game he didn't want to play until chat shoved it down his throat, D$P has placed the game on his 2nd stream roster.

Ahh, the perks of buying a condo in a gated community. Those places don't even allow postal workers in. The mailboxes are all gathered in a very small building at the entrance of the complex. I have no idea how far his unit is from the entrance to the gated community but I'm sure he would drive no matter how close he is. He is probably afraid that one of his neighbors will be in the building getting mail at the same time as he is and those things aren't very big so he'd have to be within ten feet of someone who isn't his beloved GF.

I have a pretty shitty back from a former career of mine. Pulling a nerve in your back isn't going to be fixed or helped by swaying back and forth. Also, it's not something that happens and the person shows no pain whatsoever in their facial expressions. Nerve pains are possibly the worst type of pain you could have, mostly because you can't do anything about it. If you get some nerve pain in your back you're just going to sit there wincing until it goes away.

Regular people don't take time off of work to do taxes. I know several people who are considered to be self-employed and they don't take a day off specifically for taxes. Phil just refuses to do more than one thing a day. Also, unless the feds or his state put him under a specific timeline because of past indiscretions, the deadline is mid April. Any time between January 1, and April 15 you can file taxes with no penalties and sometimes you can get more time if you talk to them. He doesn't have an actual job so he doesn't have to wait for his W2's to come back and file. He could easily keep track of EVERYTHING during the year and when Jan comes around just hand it over when December's stuff has gone through.
