Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Is Leila Hann the same person as the Hanleila that started all of this? Might be worth going through their posts.
I don't know. The names are similar, but there's no other connections I can find.

Also, the admin of that site claims to be a lawyer, so I'm really curious if he has an opinion.

So why did they want Vic framed for serial rape exactly? I know that one bitch who accused his fans of swatting her said he was a douche in general but even those mundane allegations sound like over the top lies.

'cause it's the quickest way to get rid of that annoying christian "big name" guy and replace him with your personal friends and woke people in his roles, letting DBZ become totally POC super gay friendly and let them fuck with translations into the future.

Or in ANN's case to protect their pet pedo who was busy grooming underage kids on the convention circuit.

That's seriously it, just because he's a Christian? That's fucking insane.

Vic is an open practicing and prosletysing Christian in a community of largely pink haired genderfluid snowflakes. He held Sunday prayer gatherings at Cons (well attended by all reports) and He refused to put his signature of endorsement on the third party cartoon gay porn doshinji they kept shoving in his face. That is a capital offense among this crowd. He must be unpersoned. Thus the cries of “he molestered me!” (Once again South Park was decades ahead of its time. True prophets. )

Hmmm? Interesting! Not sure how true this is, but some of the weaponized artists have been digging into Monica Rial’s accusations that Vic sexually assaulted her in some manner at a Con in 2007. One of the supposed “credible” claims. Haha funny thing. They would appear to have never been at the same Con’s or pretty much the same cities that year. The plot thickens. And it does raise some questions regarding the quality of Funimation “investigation”. Simply asking if the accuser and accused were in a proximal location at the stated time of the incident would seem to be one of the first questions that should be asked. Did Funimation actually ask Vic any questions before declaring this all credible and publicly defaming him?

The Broly movie alongside putting him in the prerelease hype for it also provided an opportune timing to have him fresh in everyone's minds, given that Dragon Ball is a million times more relevant than say FMA.
Nick actually had a theory around that. I don't know how well supported it is. Anyway, the theory he outlined was multiple individuals came to Funimation and asked them not to cast Vic in the Broly movie, using the excuse of the Japanese recast to do one of their own. Funimation said no, and went with Vic. Afterwords, the VAs banded together to demand that Vic be ousted, or else they would walk, and a fair bit of underlying infrastructure with them. In light of this new threat, Funi folded and kicked Vic in the most stupid style imaginable. I'm honestly not sure how much I believe this theory, by the way, but it is a good narrative.

Goddamn armchair lawyers are exceptional.

I'll have you know that one such armchair lawyer works at multiple anime/furry conventions. Clearly better than any lawyer available. And he might've harassed or protected harassers for over twenty years but he knows we really must get this Vic guy cause he knows more than us. Pack it in everyone

So we can talk about forum sperging here? Cause there's a thread on a DBZ forum that has reached 85 pages as of writing this post. Lots of muh victims, muh believe all women, muh harassment. It seems admins are fairly invested in it as they seem to be friendly with ANN people on Twitter. But I don't see anything other than circlejerking for the most part from most users.

Anyway, what's really caught my interest is this guy. He claims, like other true believers in the thread, that the stories about Vic have been around for years and are now "confirmed."
Choice quotes include:
I probably shouldn't go into detail since these comments weren't made in a public forum (like Sean's comments on Facebook), but let's just say there were quite a number of people in the LA dubbing world who weren't fond of him either. The problems they mentioned didn't really touch on his inappropriate behavior with fans, and were instead more about him being unpleasant to work with in general. To quote one person he worked with, "He has burned a lot of bridges because of his behavior."
and
Sean mentioned on his Facebook fan page (also many years ago) that his father is gay. So, if Vic treats homosexuals the way he is rumored to, and Sean and Vic ended up talking about homosexuality for whatever reason, it's hard for me to believe that that conversation didn't get very tense very quickly.

Now, this would just be more high school rumor bullshit. However, later in the thread he claims to be a voice actor himself. It could very well be just a va fan who is deep into larping but it's something that I think should be kept an eye on.

oh yea, kanzenshuu... fuck that place. People got banned just cause they didn't jump on the bandwagoon of #kickvic. Its also great, that users that are on the bandwagoon, can call people names and talk shit to them, but nothing happens to those fucks.

Was Schemmel's dad a child smuggler (don't think gays were allowed to adopt back then) or did he leave Schemmel's mom for a man? If it's the second option, I can see how Schemmel turned into a nut.

"Japanese recast"?

"Japanese recast"?
Supposedly. though I'm not seeing anything about this so-called recast. All I'm seeing from official promotional materials shows that Broly still has his original Japanese voice. So unless he was recast during production and they never bothered to update it after the fact. I'm certain they just wanted Vic out because he's popular.

"Japanese recast"?

Only recast I can think of is Bulma was recast when Hiromi Tsuru died suddenly a couple of years ago, and now she's played by Aya Hisakawa (Sailor Mercury, Keroberos). She was in the movie in the beginning.

That's the part that worries me.

Full support of the mainstream press, de jour control of multiple social media platforms, and the best they could do was the shitstorm we had. Comicsgate was even less competent but even shorter-lived because Disney seems to be obsessed with losing as much money as humanly possible lately. Now we're at the point where we're seeing full-on legal repercussions for this craziness, and it's fucking hilarious.

But it begs the question: How the fuck are they going to top this?

Unlike the video game industry (which is still doing quite well sales-wise all in all), Comicsgate kind of got lucky in that the timing came when Marvel was at it's lowest point ever both sales and fan response-wise (the post-Secret Wars V era was pretty dire for pretty much every Marvel property out there) and DC was doing Rebirth (which was basically them admitting they fucked up and going on a full apology tour with promises of a huge Watchman VS DC Universe fight down the line).

And anime's been watched like a hawk since Gamergate, so the forces of good were waiting for the SJWs to go full evil since we knew they were just waiting for the right moment to strike with something like what they did to Vic.

As for how they are going to top this?

Right now the lunatic left is in a holding pattern, trying their damnest to keep from losing ground/territory in hopes of getting a Democrat elected in 2020. Because the DNC had some sick censorship shit in store for the US had Hillary won: a full on return to the dark ages of the 50s era Red Scare, except the commies were the ones running the blacklist. Internet censorship would have gone into overdrive with conservatives being wholesale purged from social media and their websites shut down and driven off the internet ala Daily Stormer/Gab, along with any liberal who dared call out the lunatic left on their evil. Media would be full on government propaganda, Fox News would be taken off the air or forcibly sold off to someone like Soros to turn it into Air America: The TV Network with all of the Fox on-air talent blackballed from working in the news industry again. They would probably start gun grabbing, full-on open borders and amnesty to illegal immigrants in the country, or other wet dreams like AOC's New Green Deal (kill all coal jobs via executive decree) and other sorts of stuff that they would do, under the guise that they now have a "permanent super majority" and not bound to the will of the regular people not part of said "super majority".

Supposedly. though I'm not seeing anything about this so-called recast. From what I can tell from official promotional materials, Broly still has his original Japanese voice.
Yeah, the only characters recast were Bulma and Paragas and that's because their voice actors died.

"Japanese recast"?
I've got no clue. I haven't watched DBZ since we were using VHS tapes. I'm just going off what Rekieta said. And upon review, he explicitly said it wasn't just a theory of his, but what his inside sources told him.

Edit: While I'm at it, have a twitter sperg getting slapped down. (My understanding is that defamation of a public figure is really, really hard to win, when your opponents aren't being so spectacularly autistic to announce it to the world like in this case)

Shane telling Rekeita to "stop being so fussy" was world class funny. Vics lawyers should just give him a couple of hours pro bono for watching that stream based on the comedy value alone.
