It’s not really “eugenics” if the person doesn’t yet exist... it’s basically saying that by not having children you’re killing your future children.

I will never get this, if you have an illness/es that has made you life hell or at least painful or very very inconvenient, why the hell would you want to pass it to your kid? Is not ableist to want your baby to be healthy, is just wanting the person you will most love in the world to live pain-free and have the most opportunities possible in life, I'm not saying you should throw the kid in the trash if it gets born with something but why willingly do that to them? Of course there are different degrees of this but the way this woman is talking she seems to have something serious (or fishing for those sweet sweet pity points)

Man, they wouldn't like what Cyprus does for screening people for the thalassemia gene. They managed to weed out the blood disease from 1 in every 158 births in the 70s to almost zero these days to save money. If two people from Cyprus want to get married, they need to be screened, and they're refused a marriage license if they're both carriers.

They just passed a law that removes any and all resrictions on abortion in Vermont, any stage for any reason. And sorry, it was the Virginia govenor, not New York who was caught discussing the other:

The only thing he did wrong was not disposing of medical waste. He would’ve skated on the woman’s death as complications if he hadn’t left literal trashbags full of evidence around. And in Vermont nothing he did, except for having incompetents working for him would be illegal now. Don’t need to be a doctor, can be performed for any reason up to birth, nada. As long as you’re not dumb enough to kill someone everything else is a-okay.
It’s impossible to know how many people who are performing the exact same things as Gosnell, they just pay the medical waste disposal bills, and are slightly more competent so they haven’t killed anyone directly yet.

The only reason a woman would decide to abort a perfectly healthy baby at a very late stage is if the baby was going to be deformed or die soon after and they only just found this out, if the mother's health was at risk or if the woman tried to get an abortion earlier but was prevented/pressured by other parties. Or, I suppose, if they found out the baby's gender late and they're a weirdo. Pregnancy isn't something that a woman will change her mind about overnight flippantly. To think women are going to flock to clinics for late-term abortions for healthy babies is unrealistic, and putting up so many barriers to getting an abortion (and shaming them for wanting one) is just going to mean they secretly go somewhere seedy like to Gosnell instead.
