That is no radical feminist, that's a liberal feminist. Radfems do not partake in childish pronoun games. That whole stereotypical racist rhetoric is woke libfem thing.
I saw this and go, “I wonder how her agenda would look like if Disney let’s go of the Marvel and Lucasfilm IPS?”

But holy shit, Brie Larson photoshopped as Rey frightens the shit out of me.

I found worse...

Joe, you know black people aren't zoo animals, right? That last sentence holy shit, creepy.

It gets creepier, has anyone put this pedo on a watch list?

Anyway, this showed up on my Facebook feed:

Again, erasing the past Marvel movies (like BLADE) because it's trendy to say your movie is the first [X] superhero movie is exceptional.

EDIT:
That Joe Keskold account is a parody of your typical "male ally", and since people keep thinking that "Joke Scold" is real I must say it's pretty well done and not too on the nose to give themselves away.
I hope you're right because I've seen a few people like this and they were not parodies.

Just quoting some of "Joe Keskold" recent tweets, the person behind the account is a true artiste among trolls.

Any advanced mathematician will be happy to tell you about the concept of "imaginary numbers." What our academics less often admit is that one number is the most imaginary of all: weight. Here's a new equation for the fat shamers: gravity + a beautiful body = who gives a heck?

Any of y'all noticed the braless mannequins? Yeah, the ones with realistic nipples? I've noticed them, and I think they are sending the right message to women in Brooklyn: Wear what you want. Wear what's comfortable. Don't let other folks sexualize your breasts.

When I run into AOC in real life, I'm not sure which language I'll speak to her in: English or Spanish. I'll probably use whatever comes naturally to me at the time, which would be English at first, but as we got more comfortable we'd slip into a beautiful mess of codeswitching.

Why would Disney shutdown Marvel comics now anyway? Unless they're seeing the writing on the wall that their big tentpoles are going to start fucking up very, very soon and they can no longer support it. Hrmmm......

Their tentpoles have gotten bored and are walking away from the franchise- artistic temperament and all that sort of thing. The comics could run at a loss and simply be written off as an advertising expense for the movies while they rake in boucoup bucks, but this superhero craze has been going for what, twelve years now? If they don't have contingency plans for the profit margins shrinking in the next half-decade or so, they're dumber than even we think they are.

Don't forget this one fellow poaster :tomgirl:
My buddy Terrence told me that in high school his girlfriend suddenly pulled his pants down and initiated oral sex. Without his consent. He was so nervous that he couldn't tell her to stop, and because he climaxed, he felt so ashamed that he hasn't unpacked it all until now.

Somebody took it at face value :story:

With that many likes and retweets, I wonder how many took it seriously.

We now know at least one.

I had an interesting conversation with a Carol Danvers fan when I went to the comic shop a couple hours ago. Interesting in that it was completely civil and that we found some common ground on the character, because here is the thing: Carol is not a bad character. She has a 50+ year history and went through some harrowing ordeals: the infamous "Rape of Ms. Marvel," having her memories and powers stolen by Rogue, and her own battles with alcoholism. Yet she prevailed over her struggles and she was popular enough for the late-2000s Ms. Marvel title to outsell Wonder Woman at the time. Hell, I remarked that Marvel should have handled her the mantle of Captain Marvel earlier because of her history with Mar-Vell and record as a superhero.

Captain Marvel could very well be an entertaining capeshit/space opera film and the problem does not seem to be so much with the product itself, but rather the polarizing politics surrounding it. I know of the adage, "any publicity is good publicity." However, when Marvel Studios begins to dabble in identity politics, it is something that can easily backfire. For all the talk about inclusivity and diversity, identity politics is inherently divisive because its modus operandi is to separate groups and pit them against each other.

Does anyone believe that Captain Marvel would be as controversial if Brie Larson did not open say that she, "wasn't interested in hearing from some forty-year-old white guy about what didn't work for them in A Wrinkle in Time?" Then the usual suspects in the entertainment join the choir in telling white males that the movie is, "not for them." Excuse me? Do they not know that the key to success in film is to get asses into seats? One could say that the target audience is geared more to females, but there is something in it for everyone. You liked Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy? Then you will like this. Are you a 90s kid looking for a nostalgia trip? Brother/sister--boy/girl, have we got a film for you!

There is a precedent for how damaging identity politics can be to a film: Ghostbusters 2016. Paul Feig and Sony tried to force a reboot the fandom did not want down their throats and used the all-female cast as a shield like cowards. Yes, there were trolls. This is the goddamn Internet. However, deflecting criticism with accusations of misogyny and demonizing the entire fanbase because of a few bad actors only alienates the audience and GB2016 will go down as one of the biggest failures in recent cinematic history because the fandoms are not obligated to spend their hard-earned money on a film they do not want to see.

Fuck, The Secret Life of Pets beat GB2016 in its second weekend. Let that sink in.

As for Captain Marvel--will identity politics damage its earnings? Hard to tell. 2019 has not been kind to cinema so far with Glass and The LEGO Movie 2 performing below expectations. That same malaise could affect CM the same way, but the recent publicity fuck-ups aren't helping. It is truly depressing when the polarizing politics is starting to infect popular culture with the current "Culture Wars." It becomes impossible to look at the work for what it is supposed to be: entertainment, and not a political statement.

I'm trying to get myself into the mindset of someone who can look at the MCU and think that RDJ, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth are simply replacable cogs in the machine. It's not working.

I'll try eating more paint chips and get back to you in an hour.
