Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I'm starting to believe that maybe the world would be a better place if 7,8 and 9 were never made at all.

Episodes VII, VIII, and IX were made years ago.

They were called "Heir to the Empire", "Dark Force Rising", and "The Last Command", collectively known as The Thrawn Trilogy.

Sorry, but even if the sequel films had been perfect, it is very hard for me to think of anything else as episodes VII, VIII, and IX

Apparently Anthony Daniels has released a few more cryptic tweets about IX in some kind of code. Can anyone make sense of it?

Is this autism, his attempt to be witty or a really desperate way to drum up some semblance of hype?
It's all three, isn't it?

Has anyone been keeping track of the MovieBob thread? Apparently MovieBlob is going to be making a Star Wars episode. I can already see him bashing the original films while also bashing critics of the new films.

Special thanks to @Flexo for letting me know. #KillMoreMeatbags
I’m anticipating him to shill hard for the Disney films. Not sure if you go on his thread or not but MovieBob has a giant boner for Disney, particularly in Star Wars and Marvel.

Maybe. But rather than autism, I think its more of a "grandpa trying too hard to fit in with the younger kids by showing off his Bayblade t-shirt" kinda thing. I'm not sure if he's trying to generate hype because Lucasfilm begged him or if he's desperate for attention after C-3PO kept getting the incredibly short end of the stick in these new movies.

I used to but not as regularly now for reasons someone else described better than I could.

But yeah, I was aware of his Disney boner. Although I thought he was boycotting them or something after he started doing the #RehireJamesGunn thing?

The new Mauler vid is out.
Edit: I'm enjoying the new Mauler video for the most part, but he really went a little overboard on just that one little line of improv Poe gave (more so than the previous breakdowns). Yeah its a dumb and pointless line like much of the village scene, but there's no need to waste 15 minutes showing off clips from other media that seem rather irrelevant to your point regarding Poe. I mean was the 8 minutes of Buffy shit really necessary?
If brevity is the soul of wit, MauLer is the least witty person on the planet, whatever his other virtues.

Mauler mentions a deleted scene from TFA, watch for yourselves:
Timecode is 34m24s.

One of the biggest flaws of TFA is how it simply refuses to explain how the Resistance relates to the Republic, with this tiny snippet, it at least acknowledges that there is something going on and it blows my mind why they cut it.
That tiny dialogue would have had such a big impact and they cut it.
Most likely cause they are mortally afraid of referencing the Senate, since they think people will lump TFA together with the boring talky scenes in the prequels.

Edit:
In the zoom-shot on the balcony, shortly before the planets are obliterated by the Starkiller FuckOff-Rays, I always wondered if I was supposed to recognize that black chick that's so clearly the focus of the shot.
It all makes sense now. Knowing about this little scene alone highlights how incompetently TFA was put together.

If brevity is the soul of wit, MauLer is the least witty person on the planet, whatever his other virtues.

He's doing a very detailed analysis of individual scenes and their larger context to one another, so it's bound to be long.
It's kind of weird to criticise someone for being thorough in their critique and explaining why exactly something does or doesn't work, while also addressing the various ways in which certain flaws and poor script choices have been tried to be explained by fans.

To wit: When someone tells you "The moon landing was fake" and you take the time to explain why that is false and how many different kinds of things prove that it actually happened, your counter-argument to the short statement is going to be a lot longer. Sure, you can answer "But that's wrong", but if you want to make it stick, you need to address many different things from several angles and that takes time.

C-3PO was programmed with over 6 million languages, so Sir Anthony seemingly chose one of them not spoken on Earth for his word salad ?. Not even ROT-1 through ROT-25 came up with anything.

Than again, there's no way he could reveal anything meaningful anyways with all the NDAs cast members have to sign before they even begin shooting for a film.

That said, I'm at least glad Sir Anthony Daniel's streak of appearing in Star Wars media is still going strong, even if the franchise is falling apart around him. It's one of the few positive things I can say about Disney Wars.

One of his previous tweets may have had some meaning to it. It was perceived by some as implying a reboot of the new timeline or franchise.

Because it's trendy and they can replace Harrison Ford with a crippled, dyke, tranny nigger.

Chuck Wendig already did a Han Solo replacement, minus the crippled part, in his second horrendous book. "Zher" name was Eleodie, the non-binary Pirate Ruler of Wild Space who is super famous, better at everything and twice the scoundrel Solo ever was... Plus zhe wore gold contacts and gold fingernails cuz zhe's super special and zhe really loves gold and zhe also talks like a stereotypical pirate.

"Girl, it's like this: The sea is changing, and the tides are shifting. It's about to get real nasty for us nasty types. Either we're gonna be running from the new sheriff in town, or we're gonna be trying to kill each other in the farthest-flung dung-heap systems"
―Eleodie's vision of the Sovereign Latitudes of Maracavanya, a pirate nation

"Zhe" along with some of Chuck's other "girls" received honorary mentions and illustrations in the 2018 guide "Women of the Galaxy", a guide of pure virtue signaling cringe.

The complete lack of creativity of SJWs always boggles me - I don't know if their baseline stupidity draws them to social justice, or if the precepts of social justice simply smother all original thought. Either way, the 'woke' can never come up with anything original, compelling or truly 'brave' in regards to character, setting or concept. They cannot even express their own ideals in a fully open and supportive universe, turning out only incomplete and misshapen miscarriages that mewl pathetically for death from their deformed faces.

Chuck is given an expansive science fiction universe where nearly anything is possible, where his SJ identity had no limitations to its expression and the best he can do is a baseline human cosplaying a pirate with ridiculous pronouns. How stunted is Chuck as a thinker, much less a writer if that is the furthest he can stretch himself creatively? How small and narrow his vision is, so restricted are the wanderings of his crippled brain that using a pronoun someone else invented feels 'brave' and 'fresh' to him and his ilk.

Compare and contrast (or just read this because its a good book!) with Player of Games by an actual creative thinker and skilled writer Ian M. Banks. In this book not only does banks present The Culture, an alien society so advanced in biotech that quasi-immortality is standard. It is also considered typical that citizens will biologically transition with their technology between male and female during their lives, alternatively bearing and siring children. It also introduces an alien species, the Azadians who have 3 genders; male, female, and hermaphroditic that engage in a complex gender based relationship integral to the plot. Banks delivers on these concepts in a much more nuanced and interesting way with a high degree of craft, he forms them in such a way that influences the plot naturally and this was back in 1988.

It speaks to the absolute garbage tier of writer and thinker we have in Chuck that Banks absolutely annihilates him in craft and undercuts concept completely unintentionally 30 years prior.

It's a simular to bible belt 'art', the problem isnt what they're working with it's their intent. A character whose trans or gender fluid or whatever has potential. Their's all sorts of plot arcs you can explore, questions of gender or self-perception. Lord fanny from the invisables for example. By contrast it can just be a background trait for example Lambert in alien. The point is that it colours the character rather than is the character.

The problem develops in that they want to support trans people rather than write a good character so they make the character trans or whatever and then shit the bed because they have no idea what to do with it. They just wanted to include one because of ideological commitments,
The best way I hear it explained was that if you worked as a plumber as a way of getting into people houses to evangelize about jesus you're probably going to be a shitty unpopular plumber.

On reflection it could be a fun writting experiment to write something about a trans women which doesnt suck. I've ran roleplaying games for while now so I'm genuinly tempted to put one in just to test how you'd actually write one.

I didn't mean anything fancy like rot13, just like those cryptoquotes things that the newspaper has.

What you said reminds me of this nice quote from King of the Hill:

Instead of spreading progress by making it more "diverse", they only make books worse by shoving their stupid views into them.

As a wise man once said: "The best way to write didactic fiction? Don't."

What makes it worse with Wendig is the fact that he's doing this in friggin Star Wars, an entire galaxy full of sentient life that allows him to come up with whatever he wants in terms of bizarre alien biology. One gender? A tumblr's worth? A species that changes sex at the drop of a hat? You can write all this stuff, and more, without breaking the confines of the universe. But instead of actually exploring the potential of the material he's been given to work with, he just writes human genderspecials and calls it a day. Dude, if we want to read about enbie attention whores, we all know where tumblr is; howzabout you try putting some escape in your escapism?

If Iron Liz ever writes an autobiography, that would probably be a good starting point.
