If I'm reading this correctly, it sounds like DCFS intentionally sat on their hands until Michael was in a position where he couldn't get them.

If true, I think that's a good thing. I feel bad for the kids - they've got to be scared and confused. I just hope that during all of this a little confusion is all they feel, because God knows they've been abused enough.

I can see them making it a condition that she refrain from using social media if she wants any chance of getting the kids back. They’ll dangle that in front of her like a carrot and get her to agree to parenting classes and treatment for her own crazypants bullshit. However she’s unable to follow through with anything so I’m not too worried about them ending back up with her.

Holy shit! Not since Venus escaped Margaret have I felt so joyous on the farms! This is truly a monumental day.

Same. Waking up to this has restored a little of my faith in the world ngl. I thought nothing would be done until one of those kids got super sick from all those drugs. I hope this is the start of a good life for them, hopefully they can stay out of the spotlight for a little and recover.

Like as much as I would want updates on their conditions etc, they need to be out of the media and just allowed to live a normal life.

Jani and Bodhi have had many psych ward admissions, so while they might well be confused and scared right now, medical supervision and evals are things they're familiar with. Glad they're getting a chance, finally, I just hope things work out for them and Susan and Cory get convicted of crimes against humanity.

Do you wonder if on some level she is kind of glad they’re gone? I’m sure she will mostly be bothered by the loss of govbux and the blow to her ego but it’s pretty clear she has never liked being a mom.

I'm pessimistic. I'd say they'll do the evals and return them to screech. It's really hard to take parental rights away in a court of law. The best we could hope for is if Jani talks about some of the punishments Bodhi and herself underwent to a psychiatrist.

Child Services may have also been waiting for an opportunity when they could justify the removal of both children simultaneously, and I’m glad they finally got it. One of the most difficult factors of removing a child is the psychological damage it does to the kid. Even if their home is chaotic and abusive, the child usually still has some sense of consistency, structure, and attachment towards their home life. Disrupting that so suddenly can be very scary for a child, but much less so if they’re removed along with a sibling and allowed to be kept together.

True, it may be difficult to remove her parental rights entirely, but I would be very surprised if they just took them away for a day or two then gave them back to Susan. Typically, a child is removed as the last possible measure when there is severe, substantiated abuse, and they are only returned after the parent adheres to certain standards. These standards are determined by a court and are monitored on a regular basis, so it’s not like she can just show up a week later and say “I’m rly sorry pls give back kids” and that’s it. A lot of times, the parents will have to attend classes, undergo psychiatric treatment, etc.

Yeah the writing was pretty well on the wall with this one. You can't rely have the head of children's services in The state you live in call you an unfit patent to your face on national tv and expect to keep your kids.

The court process will take 6-12 months, Susan will get a million chances and supervised visitation will be a shit show. All records will be sealed with regard to the kids.

If they charge Susan with criminal charges it will likely be a separate proceeding that isn't sealed

Susan's Facebook has been quiet for almost 24 hours now. I really want to see what she thinks of this situation. I know that she can't keep quiet for long, so we might see something soon. I really hope she feels like shit, maybe the recent events even triggered a depressive episode.
