I'm just as surprised as anyone here about the news...well I knew something was as brewing keeping susan quiet just didnt know what. I'm hopeful for jani and bodhi that they can detox in peace and maybe get some real help with their real issues.

Even if Michael seems to be doing better, he still enabled the abuse, and still apparently believes that they're mentally ill. He has a history of caving to Susan, who's to say he won't continue to do so? As much as being a "ward of the state" or being in the foster system is generally seen as shit, their being where they are now is the lesser of two evils. As MirnaMinkoff said, it's better that professionals watch over them during withdrawal periods. They'll still be in a controlled environment, but the level of control is needed for evaluation and the aforementioned withdrawal; they won't be in a "let me shove a camera in your face while you're in the bathroom and interrogate you" controlled environment.

It's like Gypsy Blancharde saying that she feels "free" in prison. Sad, but honestly it's better for their evaluation (and her reintegration into society and normalcy).

You're forgetting what happens after the professionals are done. Without a close blood relative (and the only ones available are either Mike or related to Susan AKA the abuse continues ) the options are grim, especially for older special needs children.

Just checked the thread randomly and I am utterly shocked to hear the news, but SO happy! I've been following the Schofields since 2009, before there were even any internet sites discussing the case. and have always hoped this day would come! I hope Jani and Bodhi get the best possible care and are as ok as they can be right now. It would be lovely if they could be in a foster home that has pets, seeing as Jani loves her animals so much.

I really can't imagine Susan complying with CPS, she's barely able to string a coherent thought together. How anyone in authority ever thought she could competently parent the children I will never understand. She's paranoid and has wild flights of ideas in almost every conversation, and has extreme obsessions about mental health and conspiracies ffs.
Thank you everyone at KF and beyond who helped to get this far.
I look forward to hearing the results of the court case on wednesday.

As far as checking for criminal charges, any google search will bring that up. You can check their local court house/jail websites to see if they have been arrested and if they have been, the court house will have a record of it where you can see the most basic of info for free. So keep an eye out for that over the next week or so. I feel if it's gonna happen it might take a little time.

Jani is used to talking to her Dad every day on the phone. I'm assuming that is not happening now, which will also upset her. Although, she has been inpatient a whole lot, so she will adjust fairly quickly, I think, if someone there pays attention to her.

Just found this. The donors were Susan’s mom, and Facebook, whose algorithm decided that lining Susan and Cory’s pockets was an appropriate use of company funds. Ugh.

Jani might not even need a group home. When I was a direct support professional, I had several clients who lived in their own place, managed their own affairs, and worked regular jobs. I was just there to provide transport, and to make sure no one was trying to take advantage. She might be able to do well with just someone to look in on her after she gets taught the life skills Susan wouldn't let her learn.

I have seen numerous examples developmentally delayed adults who are able to live semi-independently in an apartment complex suited for that purpose. They have their own suite that they are able to decorate as they please. They have daily carers that help them with basic life skills like cleaning, shopping, money management, etc. They're allowed visitors overnight and allowed to order pizza and drink and basically live like normal people.

I hope that's where Jani ends up.

The teacher/aid who first reported Jani being burned needs a fucking medal, they're the real mvp because without that none if this would've ever happened, or at the very least it wouldnt have played out nearly as well.

That’s good to hear. I believe 16 months would make Jani an adult and she could choose to live with real Dad or in an assisted living facility. I think Bodhi will likely be institutionalized for the remainder of his life. In any case, both of the kids need to be under the system’s care for an extended period.

I’m 50/50 on Bodhi’s potential. By the time he was born the munchie show was in full swing and Susan was a pro at getting the drugs to debilitate her kids. Bodhi started getting walloped with drugs so early in his development it’s tragic.

I always thought it was strange Susan took him to a doctor who ruined Susan’s day by saying he was perfectly fine and no signs of autism and then less than a year later he was showing signs of autism. Almost as if the clean bill of health let Susan knew she needed to be working harder to debilitate him.

What we see of him today could be all the result of abuse or he could be autism underneath all the drugs. Sadly, there’s permanent damage either way and heading into puberty makes things more difficult.

The good news is if there’s any possibility of him functional human he’s going to get the chance at it.

So now Susan can watch Greys Anatomy with Creepy Cory all she wants. She can have the peace and quiet she wants without those pesky kids interrupting.

I personally think Cory will stick around for a few weeks. He’s calling Mama to get her expert advice, he’s screaming about the lawsuits their going to file against DCFS and Dr Phil, he’s stomping around like a big angry goon while Susan plays Scarlett O’hara.

But the drama will die off and the money is going to dry up quick. He’s going to be left to either support Susan or leave. He gone to leave as sure as he’s soon there’s no money and no more TV shows in the future.

I think the real downfall for them was Batshit’s narcissism and Creep’s greed. They thought Dr. Phil would go just great for them, and I think it was a setup from the word go. I’m sure they’re pissed at themselves and each other for getting caught in the trap. They’ve literally lost everything, and homelessness is a real immediate future possibility.

Oh without a doubt, but after Jani got burnt in the shower, dcfs got called and the one caseworker was apparently, from what we heard, very invested in the case and even though that investigation was closed I believe the worker still had their eye on them. Then that spurred Michael into action(well, bodhi's over medication did but the burn was part of it, Michael went to CA, and not long after the dr Phil happened and he went back, I think he also hopped back on another plane not long after that. Then Susan completely ruined the Texas trip and Michael's wife had a kid and now here we are.

Honestly I wonder if the whole Texas thing was just a ruse, they knew Susan wasnt going to take him but they didn't want her to take him anywhere in state so they did the Texas thing and waited for her and Michael to play their cards so they could nab and examine the kids wherever they wanted without either interfering.

What you stated here is something that really took me by surprise watching the Dr. Phil episodes. I really didn't think that she would come off exactly the same way on TV as she does in her YouTube videos and Facebook posts. I thought in those cases she was less inhibited because she was at home, in the moment, etc. but no, she was exactly the same on national TV. She's like a bizarro NPC character who can just repeat pre-loaded phrases about the Godfather, UCLA, Adam Lanza, Columbine, and 1950s psych drugs.

I just had a thought after seeing a post talking about how CPS has to file with the courts to report the abuse so that it can be investigated. This is a really good thing obviously and I'm sure the cops are waiting on the doctor's evaluations to gather evidence for criminal abuse charges. They will NEED the doctor's notes about this to build their case, it would be the centerpiece of it. So don't give up hope on the charges just because they haven't happened yet. If everyone is doing their job properly I cannot see how Susan will escape charges of some sort, at the very least. And I for one hope they include Cory in the criminal action as well because he's played such an active role (I mean just look at all the video of how "hands on" he is, I hope they won't believe him when he says he didn't know or play a part etc.) in their care to even go to the lengths of being a respite worker for Bodhi.

Not to say anything that might come across as defending Susan's mom, because she seems very much to have enabled Susan all these years -- but that quote was up on her FB profile before today (I'm not sure for how long, but it was definitely there a week or so ago when I glanced at her page).

Anyhow, it's SUCH a relief that Jani and Bodhi were finally removed from that hellhole! I do feel sympathy for Jani especially right now (being away from her pets -- speaking of whom, I also feel bad for poor Friday and Ryder, and I doubt Jani will see them again), but, yeah ... hopefully Jani and Bodhi's past history of psychiatric evaluations, etc. will be useful for once, in that their new environment will seem somewhat familiar and less overwhelming for them.

(Actually, Bodhi might be just fine with this turn of events, even if right now he's still too drugged to know what's going on; didn't he tell Michael a few weeks ago that he wanted a new home? He's getting his wish! Wherever he ends up, I hope he can talk about cars and girls in videos all that he wants -- or say that he's bored without having to worry about anyone screeching "YOU'RE NOT GEORGE! WHO ARE YOU?" and shoving more Thorazine down his throat.)

As for Michael -- I do think he loves the kids and he does seem to be moving forward in a positive way; that said, he can't just erase his past, in which he was definitely complicit in the abuse. Hopefully, Jani and Bodhi will be able to maintain some sort of relationship with him (and get to know their new half-sibling). But for now, it seems that they're better off where they are... away from Susan and Cory, receiving medical care that they actually need right now, and NOT having to be uprooted to Minnesota (a completely unfamiliar environment, in a home with a newborn baby and a woman they barely know and little girl I don't think they've even met...).

I love that this was all a result of Susan's need for attention. The entire house of cards fell because she had to jump at the chance to be in the spotlight again. What a most delicious morsel and I need to savour it. And on the Corey front he's about to be facing homelessness and starting all over again from nothing (and possible criminal charges to boot!) simply because he wanted to glom onto a "minor celebrity" and grift his way to money for nothing. They've both shot themselves in the foot and their nastiest traits are what pulled the trigger.

Best thing that has happened on this site, I hope DCFS dont fuck it up and send them back to Susan and Cory, who knows what Susan would do to them after all of this. It wouldn't be the first time CPS sent an abused child back due to lack of funding/homing to put them in.

Susan expressed Suicidal idealization before so she'd prolly murder both kids and kill herself if she got them back and a case is building up on her.
