Who the fuck is supposed to be animating that thing anyways?
This might have had a somewhat better than a snowball's chance in hell of working if they had decent artwork and copied the anime aesthetic (ala RWBY), but this looks like total shit without even getting into the "purposely made by SJWs" thing.
It's the first "Crunchyroll Original Anime." It's based on a Tumblr Webcomic, but it's basically a ripoff of Little Witch Academia, I think? it's got a shitload of woke dipshits working for it, the creator is a Tumblr F2M Tranny (IIRC a Transtrender), yadda yadda. Basically a perfect storm of woke.
But, bringing it back to this topic... Remember how someone asked Nick about that one dangerhair group trying to attack the Anime industry?
Well, they're "Women in Animation" and, yup, this is one of their droppings. They created a new "Very Diverse" (100% female!)
studio. (
Twitter account.)
Our dramatis personae:
Margaret Dean: Head of the studio, the old fuck dangerhair, she's also
President of "Women in Animation."
Raye Rodriguez: Troon creator of the series, tried to hype the series on Twitter without letting anyone know they were involved.
Amalia Levari: Comically huge problem glasses lady,
she has some actual credentials, this appears to be her breakout role. Her twitter is protected, she has pronouns in the bio, though.
Kate Leth: Yes,
THAT Kate Leth. I believe she was hired on at Marvel as a woke welfare hire. Squirrel Girl? Hellcat? Some B list character she promptly ran into the ground.
You may remember her from ComicsGate as well, wherein she decided that Milo Manara shouldn't be allowed to work because heterosexual men who aren't ashamed of being heterosexual terrify her. (She'd much rather they pretend to be Male Feminists up until the roofies kick in, as is traditional for woke courtship.)
Which is hilarious due to her also being a HUGE fucking perverted
dyke bisexual... but that's different. Twat privilege, you know:
Plebcomics had a nice take on her:
But that's ok, because she's not an ICKY WHITE MALE.
Audu Paden: Supervising Director and token male who might actually make them do work, he has a
rather impressive resume, including Animaniacs; his recent work has mostly been of the toy company advert-animations like "Monster High" and "Max Steel," however, so... we'll see.
Of the actual content, I'm torn. The still frame teaser we've seen, well, I will admit weakness -- if that was a webcomic I'd read the hell out of it. Yeah, it's Calarts Beanmouth garbage, but at least it's decently done.
Is there more on this DOA or are you just referencing the shit storm backlash it created once announced?
As for it being DOA, haven't heard that. However, NOTHING is being spoken about it since it's announcement and it's virtue signaling trailer. ("Look, we're SO DIVERSE! 100% white women!") It's just that... right after announcing this, Crunchyroll lost a HUGE amount of their content due to Funimation (Sony) breaking their contract. So a lot of people started asking exactly where their anime subs were going if the CR website is still shit, they're losing content left and right, and yet they still have millions to pump into creating a shitty Calarts Beanmouth Animation studio staffed by woke hipster cunts.
Edit: As mentioned above, one of the character designers was let go:

So did they run out of work, or is the project dead?
