You know what? We should make an Anti-Dobson fanzine.

I’m kinda doing something like that on the blog. Started an art prompt where you either redesign something of Dobson’s or do art corrections on one of his pieces.

I like this idea. Seeing contributors take his ideas and make them actually passable if not better would make Dobbo a Salty Sam.

Maybe we could also create an award, called "The Dobbys." Kind of like what the Razzies are to the Oscars, not something any artist would want to "win." Too late to petition for such a category to be added to KF's "Oscars," but that would be good, too. But Dobson would win that every year, and a loser like Dobson being a winner is too bizarre to contemplate.

What would be a good subtle name for an anti-Dobson zine? Through the looking glass? Shadow of the beast? I feel like something that's not a direct callout would be funniest since I'm sure Dobson would whinge about it on Facebook, possibly resulting in a few of his asspatters gaining an understanding of exactly why he has the reputation that he does.

E: The Andrew Dobson Award for Excellence in Stagnation would be much funnier actually. Not just for art, but for cows who could easily improve their situation but just don't.

If you want some ideas, at one point I had a lofty idea of making a parody comic called "Catty vs Natty", aka fake male-feminist self parody vs violently mysandrist self parody. I kinda lost interest in drawing it, but I still think it could work as a concept.

I still find it crazy where this guy ended up. I remember him being a lot more sane and approachable when he did his CattyN stuff. Even talk to him over yahoo messenger about random stuff but that was back in 05-07... ish... Though I guess his downfall happened when he told the inflation community that he wasnt gonna do any more of that stuff and wanted to do "real" art. That community went on and attacked him since there was very few artist that drew that crap at the time. They really don't like losing an outlet for their niche fetish at the time. Last time i personally heard from him was when he vented on me about how the inflation trolls cost him his girlfriend at the time.

Honestly, I could be wrong. But I think the entire reason he even pissed off the inflation community was because him..leaving wasn't exactly graceful. My memory is very flimsy, but from what I do manage to remember his way of leaving wasn't saying something like "Hey guys, it's been fun but I wanna go and do other stuff. Maybe try my hand in real art (HA!), but I'll leave this gallery for you all". Instead he pretty much had this rant meltdown how he's a super awesome artist or some shit. Suffice to say, people didn't really like that behavior and well went after the mofo.

Given how he reacts to redraws of his art or someone picking up his comic and changing it, I would love to see his reaction to an AzP-Version of "Fear and Loathing in CWCville".

That's what really kills me. Had this fucker just left in a humble manner, nobody would have given much of a crap for him and hell had he bothered to improve his art style he could have been fine. But he pretty much acted like a Pre-Madonna and got a response off "Oh, it's gonna be like that? Okay fucker, you asked for it..."

The one in the bottom center and the one on the bottom left actually look kinda nice, but everything is so off model and watered-down it’s still kinda shitty.

How can Dobson take something as colorful and cutesy as Mario and make it look so fucking bland?
