If you paid attention to the gear and the tactics the shooter used its very obvious he

1. Has a military background with possible wartime experience
2. Has been practicing for this day for a long time
3. Was familiar with the mosque itself

This guy was a pro. In his video he didnt miss at all nor do he make any mistakes with his firearms. He even had a flasher to blind his targets.

He was a good shot, I'll give him that, but that's all range experience. His mag discipline was awful - getting tackled shouldn't throw your ammo all over the hall. He wasn't checking his corners, wasn't counting his shots, fumbled with his mags; wasn't used to reloading with actual adrenaline pumping, definitely was never taught how to clear a room, just how to run a course at a range. Again, if someone had sacked up with 7:03, he'd probably have been done. That's something that happens to you when you're used to running through a course dumping rounds into static dummies, but the short of shit that gets you yelled at by the range instructor if you do it during actual MOUT.

He definitely spent some time at the range, though not missing with an AR-15 at < 50 feet doesn't take a lot of skill.
The bit that got me going "Jesus...fuck." was the fact he left, took a minute, then came back in to see if anyone was playing dead. And that's definitely not something they teach in any military course.

He was also obviously out of shape, breathing hard as he jogged to his car.

He also missed some very obvious things from a body count perspective, like having some sort of incendiary device to start a fire as he left.

It's fucking autistic that all the internet people reporting on it are focusing so much on a random Youtube man who is only tangentially connected. I would doubt they would ever watch the footage to see there are far far more horrible things than "subscribe to pewdiepie" but that's to be expected.

Who is the dead person in the OP though? It's highly unlikely that's Tarrant especially with the news coverage saying only one shooter is in custody, nothing about one being dead.

There is no proof he is dead in the OP. I felt it was jumping the gun there and feel like I'm being proved right.

I haven't read to the end of this thread yet so sorry if I'm late but I watched the video twice like a minute after it was posted and it made me sick I feel sick now and won't probably be better for a day or two and fuck I was having such a nice positive day.

This is the most real or surreal example of what I've been worried about for over 20 years. We are raising people who don't give a fuck who when I was 8 or 5 I realized if we keep exposing people to the not give a fuck no one means shit mentality this generation is doomed and I'm 33 and this guy looks around my age and I'm terified of people coming out 15 years younger than me.

Fast forward from preteen to 30s and now people are shooting people up and memeing (cartoon mentality) the whole way which is the disconnect of the digital age.

There's a ridiculous disconnect that's only worsened by both mob mentality and said mob mentality forcing unwanteds out where they eventually start regrouping into insular ideologies and echo-chambers.

edit: i should add, i don't especially care for islam or for people who practice it, but these people have no control over the policies that brought them into NZ or any other western country. and given that our leaders give them every reason to come here and every advantage in doing so, you really cannot personally blame third-world immigrants for coming here. you would do the exact same in their position. the policies and the leaders and activist groups who promote the policies are the true problem. shit like this accomplishes nothing and just gives them more ways to poison the well.

As for your fear, i wouldn't worry. There are 7,690,382,878 people on the planet as of this moment. This was 1-3 people in an isolated incident and the only one to have been doing it like this so far.
