I have been searching for the identity of the woman who pled for her life only to be shot again by Tarrant and run over by his car. I was looking for a woman age 20-30 who didn't wear hijab. I have found her to be Ansi Alibava, who just finished her master's degree in Agribusiness to match the identity of the woman. Her body was found on the road, having run from the mosque in her socks.

I went back a few pages and didn't see this, also searched but didn't find it posted in this thread either.
Feel free to point out my lack of awareness in this thread if this is already in here.

They charged a teenager today for shitposting memes and sharing the video. Could face up to 14 years in prison.

An 18-year-old New Zealander accused of sharing a livestream of a mass shooting across two mosques that left 50 dead has been denied bail.
Police have said the man - who cannot yet be named - was not involved in the attack in Christchurch allegedly carried out by Australian white supremacist Brenton Tarrant, 28, on Friday.
Appearing in the Christchurch District Court today, the accused was granted interim name suppression but was declined bail by Judge Stephen O'Driscoll.

The details behind the bail decision cannot be published.
He will appear in court again in April.
The teen faces two charges: one of sharing the live-stream and a second for posting a photograph of one of the mosque's attacked with the message "target acquired" along with other chat messages "inciting extreme violence".

If found guilty, could face up to 14 years' jail.
Oh for fucks sake. If shitposting is a crime then all of us are getting gulag'd. Was what this dude did tasteless? Yes, but not illegal. Way to keep going along with Brenton's manifesto you fucking speds.

Honestly I really hope it turns out that 14 year old was directly involved in setting up the shooting, because otherwise they are pushinishing a kid worse than they would punish some criminals for being edgy.

American SWAT teams usually take about 30 minutes to call in the hitters, suit up, and roll out. Maybe NZ's police went green and were taking the trolly because there are 2 police stations 10 minutes away, and thats not the countless out-and-about in the city. Not sure if they even have active shooter training

The two cops who arrested him were out of towners attending active shooter training at the time the attacks happened. So yeah, they do have active shooter training.

They also called in local and international snipers who were undertaking a joint exercise at the time.

That means it was an on the fly response rather than the activation of an established protocol. I expect there would have been some confusion about who was leading the response and that there'll be criticism of how it was co-ordinated. There always is when something unprecedented happens, whether it's 9/11, the Lindt Cafe siege, or this.

She ran out of the mosque? I was under the impression she was just walking by and had REALLY bad situational awareness. I didn't think she was running when he first got her.

Telstra and Vodafone are outright blocking things, but it seems Optus is waiting for further direction.

A Telstra spokesman said the company had "started temporarily blocking a number of websites that continue to host the footage".

"In Australia, there is a process whereby blocking requests are generally made via the courts or law enforcement agencies to ensure the right balance is struck between free speech and protecting the community," she said. - Vodafone spokesperson

An Optus spokesman said the company was legally obliged to block websites under the direction public agencies and was working closely with these organisations.

Explains why I can only get here via TOR when using my phone as a hotspot this morning. This whole thing just keeps escalating.

Good info that I didn't know. Bummer students have to become legit their first few days; talk about being thrown to the wolfs. This has the 'North Hollywood' shoot out and changing how they think written all over it.

Still haven't gotten the news about three other people that have been 'arrested'. Besides of MSM shenanigans tossing shit left and right, the well seems to be ran dry by this point.
One person wasn't charged with anything. The police commissioner did say that the other two arrests were unrelated firearms offences.

They weren't rookie cops. I assume they have to do a certain number of hours training periodically like our cops here.

Since Friday's deadly attack at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, gun owners have been turning up at local police stations seeking to have their own semiautomatic rifles—the weapon believed to have been used in the shootings—destroyed.

In the days since the attacks, which saw 50 people killed and dozens more injured, a number of gun owners in New Zealand have gone on social media to encourage others to follow in their footsteps. They want them to hand over their weapons and prevent another attack like Friday's from happening again.

"Until today, I was one of the New Zealanders who owned a semiautomatic rifle," one gun owner, farmer John Hart, wrote on Twitter. "On the farm they are a useful tool in some circumstances, but my convenience doesn't outweigh the risk of misuse.

"We don't need these in our country," he added, sharing an image of a police form registering his weapon for "destruction." "We have make sure it's #NeverAgain."

Hart said he had turned over his weapon to police with "no questions asked" and was told that the semiautomatic rifle would be destroyed.

He said he had been using the rifle for pest control on his farm but said that there were other ways to do the job that do not require owning such a deadly weapon.

"It's not a big deal not having it anymore. I couldn't, in good conscience, say they shouldn't be around if I still had one," he said. "Once you accept that these things can be harmful, in the wrong hands, the trade-off is a small inconvenience."

Hart said in a separate post that he was "overwhelmed by the positive responses" he had received and that the negative reactions had been few.

Hart said he had mostly blocked those sending him negative comments, writing: "The devil doesn't need any more advocates" and that he hoped that more gun owners would follow suit in turning over their weapons.

In a separate Twitter post, another New Zealander, posting under the name Fey Hag, said she too had turned over her family's weapons following Friday's attacks, writing: "When my husband died his guns were handed to family holding the requisite license. Daughter of crack-shot food hunting parents, I have used guns from the age of 9.

"Today I requested that those guns be handed in for destruction," Hag wrote.

A third Twitter user, posting under the name Blackstone, shared an image of the "arms surrender" police form on Monday, writing that after owning a firearm for 31 years, turning over the rifle was "one of the easiest decisions I have ever made."

"Since I first heard about the atrocity on Friday afternoon, I have reflected and reserved my thoughts," the social media user wrote. "Monday morning—this is one of the easiest decisions I have ever made."

The attack on the mosques marked New Zealand's first mass shooting in nearly 30 years, New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has vowed to introduce new gun laws.

Did they entirely forget the good guy with a gun that ultimately stopped the shooter?
