Galaxy brain Shane bringing us all up to date.
It's been so hard to keep track of all this, so bless him.

But in seriousness - I'm scratching my head trying to divine his endgame with this. I mean, it's Shane Logic, but still...

He just handed the lawyer who will certainty be grilling him in court a roadmap of shit to grill him on. Why he's making the job of Ty Beard easier baffles the mind.

Something I found funny rewatching escaflowne is that Sabat was some literally who background character and Vic was a main antagonist then turned good guy
I'm pretty sure this was pre-FUNimation
Did Vic generally outshine Sabat Pre-FUNi? Because that could be why there is so much intense anger against Vic
And I noticed that FUNi about two years or so ago tried to kick-start a re-dubbing of escaflowne for no reason. Can anybody remind me if it was a re-dubbing? I remember seeing it years ago and thinking "why are they redoing it? It was fine?" But that could have been me getting it wrong or something

Stated reason was to dub deleted scenes and release on bluray. It appears Vic was involved and reprised his role.

I've been lurking on here & on Twitter for a while, but I noticed something about ol' blue. She only recently showed up when the papers were sent. I've seen her activity on Twitter & the interactions to her & I remember seeing many professional comic cucks basically sucking her cock claiming "she is so witty and snappy". I feel like people pay her to say things on their behalf because they want to appear neutral online, the timing with this especially telling. Her tactic is she basically bullies people until they say something she can report them on.

Yeah. They are called Weber Shandwick.

I fully believe this conspiracy. Because the idea that someone would spend all day on Twitter without pay is just too damn depressing.

EDIT: Apparently I'm dyslexic

Now was this an attempt to get Vic removed to satisfy the prince of all soyans? Well there's no direct evidence, so from a legal standpoint:

Seriously, with all the mean girls bullshit at Funimation we can't prove it but I wouldnt put it past Sabat

Remember, these brain-damaged fucking retards view every bit of harm they've caused Vic as a big win for them and they're proud of it. It hasn't sunk in that every bit of harm they've caused Vic is more $$$$$ that they'll have to spend the rest of their lives paying back, with interest.

They may be able to prove it. Initially Haberkorn wanted to probably stay neutral in all this and just deal with the Pridemore thing. But after possibly Sabat getting into him over his choice of lawyers., he may have turned over a lot of stuff to BHBH. But who knows BHBH are mum about it.

One thing i don't think the thread touched on when attempting to guess the identities of Iago and Igor is that Ty has likely chosen those names for a reason. Everybody knows the character Igor due to pop culture, he does his masters bidding and it often entails lots of dirty work. So lets look at Othello and the character Iago instead, now it won't fit our current story 100% yet it gets close.

I feel like Act one is most important so I'll put the rest in a spoiler. From Wikipedia, emphasis mine.
Iago is a soldier who has fought beside Othello for several years, and has become his trusted advisor. At the beginning of the play, Iago claims to have been unfairly passed over for promotion to the rank of Othello's lieutenant in favour of Michael Cassio. Iago plots to manipulate Othello into demoting Cassio, and thereafter to bring about the downfall of Othello himself. He has an ally, Roderigo, who assists him in his plans in the mistaken belief that after Othello is gone, Iago will help Roderigo earn the affection of Othello's wife, Desdemona.

After Iago engineers a drunken brawl to ensure Cassio's demotion (in Act 2), he sets to work on his second scheme: leading Othello to believe that Desdemona is having an affair with Cassio. This plan occupies the final three acts of the play. He manipulates his wife Emilia, Desdemona's lady-in-waiting, into taking from Desdemona a handkerchief that Othello had given her; he then tells Othello that he had seen it in Cassio's possession. Once Othello flies into a jealous rage, Iago tells him to hide and look on while he (Iago) talks to Cassio. Iago then leads Othello to believe that a bawdy conversation about Cassio's mistress, Bianca, is in fact about Desdemona. Mad with jealousy, Othello orders Iago to kill Cassio, promising to make him lieutenant in return. Iago then engineers a fight between Cassio and Roderigo in which the latter is killed (by Iago himself, double-crossing his ally), but the former merely wounded.

Iago's plan appears to succeed when Othello kills Desdemona, who is innocent of Iago's charges. Soon afterwards, however, Emilia brings Iago's treachery to light, and Iago kills her in a fit of rage before being arrested. He remains famously reticent when pressed for an explanation of his actions before he is arrested: "Demand me nothing. What you know, you know. From this time forth I never will speak word." Following Othello's suicide, Cassio, now in charge, condemns Iago to be imprisoned and tortured as punishment for his crimes.
So if we have a backstabbing snake as Iago, Vic is obviously Othello right? Well Vic also fits another character, Cassio, and Othello might just be a company like Funimation.

So we have a trusted advisor who's worked together for years with Funimation, who got passed over for promotion (I'll take this as a general more work or popularity instead of actual promotion) in favour of Vic. He plots to have Vic demoted and may have also accidentally caused the downfall of Funimation or 'another company' (vice principal). He has an ally that fits people like Schemmel and Rial who may want more work from 'another company' or Soye who wants affection from a wife.

Going into the other acts we have Iago leading Funimation to believe something nefarious happened with Vic, gets the help of another woman and that he'd seen it with his own eyes. Funimation then investigates and Iago leads them to believe false evidence. Funimation orders the death of Vic, but he is only wounded in the fight while Iago backstabs his ally (look out dummy). Depending on who we take as Desdemona, Funimation may kill a VA (look out dummy) or 'another company'. Iago's treachery is brought to light by the woman who helped him (look out dummy) Funimation dies, Vic wins and hopefully puts Iago in jail. I know that last part is super :optimistic: but it would be a fun ending.

Now maybe this was all too :autistic: and he was named Iago due to general backstabbing, but given all the information we already had who fits really nicely into this story? IMO one name practically screams out: Sabat

Turns out Vic was going to reprise his role like the previous person stated
But it would have been pretty hilarious if Sabat went out of his way to redub it out of spite

Same. But the head scratching comes into play when pondering how or why he thinks this might work toward that end. It's good for a laugh, but transparent as fuck. It's like... you've seen the players on the other side. Who are you expecting to fool with this.
Has Shane even addressed what Ty Beard mentioned/implied on the stream last night?

  • In 2016, Shane became the director of A-Kon (I think that was what he was referring to).
  • Owners of A-Kon picked Shane up after the previous person they had left under "a cloud" of controversy. According to "Not A Bug," the owners seemed to be like Mom-and-Pop type owners and did not pick him based on merit but "because they knew him."
  • In 2017, A-Kon had a "very public" separation with Shane Holmberg. After which, Holmberg slandered A-Kon "at every chance he could get." This allegedly brought him under threat of a libel suit (oh, the irony).

Yeah, I called this one too. Almost as soon as it happened.

A-Kon seemed like they took a little bit of pleasure in that Tweet they sent. It didn't feel like they just wanted him to take them off their LinkedIn. It certainly felt like they absolutely don't like him.

And I have also seen people start "revenge cons" before too. Nomikai Dallas seemed like it was exactly that.

Also, he was Operations Director. Which is the guy that manages all the departments, when the con is actually running, under a chairman. So he would have been #2 or #3 of A-Kon at some point (but not necessarily a director in common corporate sense).

Funimation and the Texas VA clique had nothing to do with the original Escaflowne dub. It was done by leafs. They all got replaced because it was cheaper to hire local speds.

This was my read on that as well, not to mention that I remember staff at dragoncon being really shitty regarding him back when i gopher'd as a teen. His name has literally been fucking mud behind closed doors for almost a decade solely because hes a straight christian that held bible study at cons and refused to sign copies of "wheres my piccolo".

I dont share his religion but its been noted time and time again to be a mitigating factor in how vic was given the irl shadowban (ie his coostars and constaff being sneks that were nice to his face). Ive only met him once but he looks like the kind of guy thats not soo much ignorant of how people actually think of him but more that he operates on the golden rule. Like how dare he do him without being persecuted for being a normie.

What could he say, honestly? He can either quadruple down, or just throw in the towel. He's too salty to do the later.

I'm pleased an insider gave us confirmation about what I suspected (and hypothesized here much earlier) about Shane and his past. I have a better understanding of his mentality now. He thinks he's more important than he is, and is trying to become a relevant player in the con scene after getting humiliated by somebody who actually is.

This is Shane's life. It's all he has now. Him and his chair.

It was also old and crap. It needed to be entirely redone from scratch because Fox hacked the shit out of the show for TV broadcast.

I am talking about Shane. Not Vic. A-Kon does not like Shane.

I have no idea what their opinion of Vic is. They didn't make a Tweet about Vic. Only Shane.

@Captain Manning is talking about Shane, who claimed he worked for A-Kon (not Vic). When queried about it, A-Kon tweeted a very snippy, snarky tweet regarding Shane claiming employment with them on his LinkedIn.

Edit: Ninja'd
