i believe the context here was that Shane stumbled into Nick's livestream on march 20th and went off the deep end because of one too many chair jokes.

He's since deleted the amazing done Photoshop job of nick fuckin a chair

Well now we know the kind of porn Shane watches. I bet he finds Chairface from The Tick sexy as hell.

EDIT: Lmao somehow I wrote "king" instead of "kind". Would Shane even qualify for being "king of porn"?

Remind me? Wasn’t she supposed the root point of the “Vic is a Homophobe” claims?

I don't... think so...? I remember there was a literal fat fujoshi bitch who posted something like "I am living!" after Vic was let go by Funimation. She was ass blasted over Vic not signing artwork, and had this jihad going in her mind for a long time.

I don't remember her name, because she isn't important otherwise. I know it wasn't HanLeia though. Somebody else can try and untangle this web, if they want.

There is nothing that can be done to Hanleia. All she said was opinion. Vile opinions, but "creepy to underage girls" doesn't really claim any facts. She's probably safe from the legal war, unless she contacted marzgurl et. to start the flame.

Maybe. She may be forced to testify though and explain "just what she meant". She'll probably get off if she throws MarzGurl under the bus. But that really remains to be seen. She's not getting away unscathed, that is for sure.

Edit also keep in mind defamation is not based upon what you say as much as what "a reasonable person" would "reasonably" conclude you said. Saying "He is Creepy to underage girls" is certainly an opinion statement, but taken in the larger context of what she was saying and what people decided retweet about what she said, it can definitely be read as defamatory.

How Toei reacts to all this is the most fascinating part. I'm really looking forward just to seeing what happens there. I hope they view it clearly as what it is, Sabat dragging one of their most valuable franchises through the mud with a shameful display of unprofessionalism and dishonor.

To paraphrase something Richard Meyers joked about, when describing a potential scene with IDW big wig Chris Ryall dealing with Hasbro being pissed off that Aubrey Sitterson had turned the entire GI Joe fandom against IDW with his bullshit and directly relaying all of Aubrey's antics to them with receipts? I can totally see Sabat calling Toei every day, lying like crazy to them to justify/deny everything being charged and telling Toei to only believe him and his corrupt/complicit media cronies and that anyone telling them anything that defies the lie-filled narrative Sabat and co are pushing, as "alt right Nazis" and maybe even saying "OK, so there might be SOME truth to the fact that we MIGHT have jumped the gun in firing Vic. But these are Alt Right Nazis we are dealing with and we can't fucking lose face by caving to them!", in hopes of appealing to the aspect of the Japanese code of honor, where you never admit to a mistake EVER because doing so would destroy your reputation and appearance of honor.

To be fair it wouldn't be putting two and two together and getting five, it's not out of left field to assume that
She is the most hardcore fujoshi I have ever seen in my life personally, gay anime boys is her life. She eat sleep and breathes crappy anime boy love shit. That's all her life is other than her job, that's all she's interested in ever
The fact that the majority of fujoshis are openly angry at Vic for not signing their boylove shit, it's not hard to guess why she, a fujoshi herself, hates him.
I can't think of any other reason why somebody who never strays away from boy love crap on her entire internet presence would randomly just go on a crusade like this out of nowhere.
But if you have another guess why she randomly chosen to crusade over this, I would be interested in hearing

She's a batshit insane Obsessive Compulsive Fujoshi fangirl, who may have heard somewhere on the interwebz that Vic refuses to sign Fujoshi art, so therefore he must die as a heretic?

Maybe. She may be forced to testify though and explain "just what she meant". She'll probably get off if she throws MarzGurl under the bus. But that really remains to be seen. She's not getting away unscathed, that is for sure.

The problem with that is that same "Reasonable Person" standard also evaluates the nature, credibility and projection power of the source of the defamation. No Reasonable person is going to look at HanLeia or her batshit insane Twitter ravings and view that as a credible source. She is the textbook example of what the Reasonable Observer would view as "Just some nutcase Sperg on the internet".

You're not going to be found liable for defamation for shit other people said later or a context that didn't even exist until years after what you said.

After their thread was dormant for three days, people finally started posting...misinformation.

It's weird how they're so close to the actual events that happened but leave out the things that give it legitimacy. It almost feels like a disinformation op.

Yea, these people are pretty much lying on PULL at this point. It's a shame. No one said that Sabat was solely responsible for getting Vic uninvited to Kameha Con. Nick literally said Sabat, Rial, Toye and possibly Shane as well in all this. Nevermind that Nick has a mole at Kameha Con and that Ty's lawyers are aware of the situation too.

According to this director on Instagram Vic still has work on some live action projects.

"Directing anime superstar #vicmignogna in The proof of concept teaser trailer for my original mystery, noir thriller film (fruit of the poisonous tree) Vic was hands-down one of the most easy and respectful actors to work with and I’ve directed over 21 films, 12 commercials and over six music videos i’m working with Vic on currently three different productions right now. And I can’t believe how ridiculous the industry is treating him. #vickicksback #filmdirector#filmmaking #directorsguildofamerica "

Now, come on. We need to be better than "fake but accurate." This thread already has a problem where things that start out as clearly-labeled conjecture gets repeated enough that people start thinking it's fact. If Hanleia wasn't someone whose signature request got rejected, then we need to know that and stop echoing it.

Anyway, for some reason I got to wondering what Wikipedia's butchering of these events would be. Here's what they have:

Sexual harassment allegations

Following the release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, which prominently features Mignogna's vocal work, accusations of sexual harassment began to surface against Mignogna, with some allegations dating as far back as 1989.[28][29][30] Multiple accounts alleged that Mignogna kissed, groped, and made unwanted comments to fans without their consent, some of whom were underage.[28][29][31] Voice actresses Monica Rial and Jamie Marchi also tweeted their support for those speaking out, and openly alleged being sexually harassed by Mignogna.[32][30] On February 5, 2019, Rooster Teeth, creators of the animated series RWBY, severed their business relationship with Mignogna,[31][33] and Funimation recast Mignogna's role of the Executive in The Morose Mononokean.[34] In response to the controversy, Mignogna categorically denied any accusations of sexual harassment. However, multiple anime conventions withdrew Mignogna from their guest list.[35][31] On February 11, 2019, Funimation confirmed on Twitter that they had ended professional ties with Mignogna following an investigation.[36][37] Mignogna issued an apology during his panel at Bak-Anime 2019 and again via Twitter on February 13, 2019.[38] On February 20, 2019, Mignogna confirmed on Twitter that he was pursuing legal action.[39]

So somewhat out of date and the apology could use some clarification, but actually not that far off in terms of Wikipedia culture war-related content.

That's why Wikipedia shouldn't be considered a sole source. References exist for that purpose. The fact that people just go straight to the Wikipedia pages and come up with their own conclusions is alarming.

I'd say leave it as is. It will be updated as these lawsuits progress. This is very similar to what happened with Chris Hardwick and James Gunn and their predicaments.

I think wikipedia is being fair, they're ending it at Vic saying he's going after them legally and will probably write an update if/when the ruling is released. They have to use authoritative sources and keep it succint, which is wikipedia's stupidity at work, and pretty much every site reporting on this went radio silent as things started to look not in #KickVic's favor.

What happens if she gets a retraction letter from the Beard and refuses to do it? People didn't take her statements "years down the line". They did it the very next day. It seems to me at a minimum Ty has cause to demand she issue a formal and public retraction. I think its clear by now she was just parroting everything her fellow fujoshits were saying for years and IMO she can probably be made to say as much.

Hell, she borderline already is with her claims to be "saying what many other people have been saying for years".

I hope he is ready for the danger-haired horde.
