Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

I hope Nick mentions this on his stream, and i would say they had shoot themselves in the foot once again...but i don't think their feets are big enough for any other hole of the many times they have done it.

These clowns are so getting bumped up on Ty’s target list, aren’t they? Also who wants to bet the “lawyer they contacted familiar with contract law” is in fact a Canadian Paralegal?

Actually... I think they might have actually gotten this one right.

The issue here is that Lynzee is such a shit writer that at least three of us all read it wrong initially (and she's probably trying to obfuscate more than a little). It's a concession Kameha had no choice but to bring Vic back, and Ty was legally correct to hold their feet to the fire (I'm sure there will be all sorts of bullshit about him being "morally wrong.").

The other point is that Monica and the rest might be in deeper shit by cancelling to do a signing elsewhere.

Brolly is a VERY polarizing character in DBZ lore.

In the original movies, he has a flimsy backstory and basically is the Dragon Ball version of Juggernaut.

For another perspective on this, Broly is untapped potential that's been given a chance to shine. For any of you into martial arts genre staples in general, Broly is supposed to represent, like Cell, the more unvirtuous aspects that can be taken in the matter of strength and fighting, and in the realm of "Fighters are born, not made", or in layman's terms "a genetically superior fighter, and is merely a winner due to having strength to begin with", and everything nasty that can come with that if you applied it to Saiyan anatomy. He's the Ivan Drago or Doomsday of Dragon Ball.

For some recap, as "With great power comes great responsibility", Broly was not raised on that by his dad. Since he was born, he was already considered a threat to King Vegeta, and was meant to be executed. When was only a child, Broly was already annihilating planets as if the whole universe was his toy, and his dad was trying to use him to restart the Saiyan raider empire all over again. Broly is also not right in the head, and acts constantly like a meathead with the testosterone jacked to 1000% via freak mutation pituitary gland in overdrive and crushes anything that lives and breathes as a lifestyle.

Goku and friends were lucky that Broly wasn't around on Earth when Dr. Gero was collecting DNA from everyone to make Cell, else that would have been a losing battle to begin with. It was satisfying to see him get blown up time and time again.

He exists solely to have an excuse plot fight with the other characters, as far as a super-strong Saiyan who forces Vegeta and Goku to go beyond their limits to fight in the movies. In the original movies, he has a flimsy backstory and basically is the Dragon Ball version of Juggernaut.

That said, Brolly is absurdly popular in Japan, because of the fact that he's pretty much a human wrecking ball that can take Goku and Vegeta on at full Super Saiyan strength and then some. In the US, he's a love/hate character because of his flimsy backstory (he's evil because he and Goku slept in the same nursery and Goku kept crying 24-7, which someone rendered Brolly irreversibly insane as an infant due to constant sleep deprivation) and the fact that his films are basically some of the flimsiest of the Dragon Ball movie canon in terms of excuse plots for fights.

But the Brolly fights are some of the best fights of the original series and movie line. And with the new Super movie, Toei outright took steps to rebuild Brolly from scratch to address fan complaints about the shallowness of his backstory and motivations as they have the character become part of the official series canon.
As TFS put it, ”He’s so cool but he’s so goddamn dumb.”

Then came Yammer, and took everything good of Broly, took the bad away, and created the new Broly, one of the best characters that have come from the franchise in a long time. Space Tarzan as i like to call him.

Are we fellow autists "Auti-Gender" as well ? :story:

You run across this and don't archive it, you think this is a game?

What the holy fuck? Somebody time stamp this one. This is the moment where we have witnessed Peak Autism. Autism as a Gender. I find myself once again praying for our soon to be Chinese Overlords to invade and enslave us all. We clearly deserve it.
Just check the rest of this person's timeline. I can't tell if it's a parody, all it says is too insane and it scares me to think this person is real.

Wait, they said that brewery is in Grapvine, right? That’s like right next to Funimation itself, hang on...

Yep, thought so.

They're not even trying to hide it, I wonder how many of the people who paid for Sabat's "Prince of all faggots" tour magically end up at Monica's fold out table con too.

So they've managed to get hold of a document that was apparently a big no no for Nick to have and all the document says is that yes, cancelling Vic's appearence would indeed open them up to being sued by him.

It's clear that they're trying to get out in front of Nick once again, I think it's time for him to stop announcing things so early and keep everything closer to his chest until it's too late for them to do anything. It would be interesting to know how they got that contract or who supplied it to them.
Was this his plan all along??

All these people out here playing checkers, while Nick's at 10D underwater backgammon.

So totally transparent. If they haven't done something absolutely STUPID like tell REEal et al that they understand and release them from their contracts, it would be worth KamehaCon's time to document the get together if it happens.

Is she on Twitter? Is she getting a bunch of hate thrown her way?

If so, perhaps counter it with a little love, especially if you'll be going to the con yourself. Remember, keep it positive. I haven't said so in so many words before, but I believe that the best way us non-lawyer, non-con-staff plebs can help win this little battle in the culture war is to make it so when normies look into it, they see that the "woke" side is actually the angry and vindictive side, and the "alt-right rapist" side is actually the calm, reasoned, and welcoming side. Twitter brigades, please keep that in mind when tweeting about this thing.
