I know this is late, but I think you deserve to know as much of the story as possible.
As you may or may not know, Vic comes from a divorced household and did not have a relationship with his father.
When he became a Star Trek fan, he found a male role model in William Shatner's Captain Kirk.

Later in life, he met William Shatner.
When Vic began his Star Trek Continues series, he often talked about how much Kirk meant to him.
Then I found about this incident.
I was informed by someone that Vic and the Star Trek Continues staff used Shatner's image without his permission and Shatner found out:

As you can see in the thread, Vic assured Shatner he would fix it.
Unfortunately, Shatner (or someone using Shatner's account) tweeted about what broke the camel's back and he blocked ALL of the cast members of Star Trek Continues.
