Dumbo (2019)

Apparently there isn't a pink elephants scene beyond an allusion.
Then what was the point of making him director? Not only is that scene right up his alley, it's the most famous part of Dumbo. When people talk about Dumbo the pink elephants are almost always the first thing people bring up about it. The whole flying elephant part is secondary to the pink elephants. I don't fucking get this at all.

So is dumbo emo in this new version? What's with the creepy makeup?

I saw a snippet of an interview with Tim Burton and he makes certain to note that unlike the original movie, Dumbo immediately learns to fly so the ADHD spastics in the audience don't have to wait for it. So if the movie is all about overcoming adversity and using it to your advantage, and they just blow through that in the first ten minutes, where does the rest of the movie go?

Also, something tells me the crows are going to be persona non grata.

They wasted a perfect opportunity to do a road trip movie with Dumbo fleeing the circus with his mouse friend and discovers there's A whole new woooooorld, a new fantastic point of view.

Apparently the movie is more about the humans than Dumbo himself.

The one thing that should've been a no-brainer when you hear "Tim Burton Dumbo remake" isn't even in the movie.
In an interview, Danny Elfman said he had to convince Burton to allow him to use bits of music from Casey Jr. and Pink Elephants from the original movie in his new score. Burton was committed to omitting them entirely.

How the fuck does Burton still get jobs? He's been such a hack for the longest time...

:stress: How out of touch is Burton that he didn't think people would notice and/or care about that?
