Occupy was fading into irrelevance about then, and there's some shared roots with Occupy and SocJus. The only other thing I can think of in 2013 is United States v. Windsor, which held that restricting U.S. federal interpretation of "marriage" and "spouse" to apply only to opposite-sex unions, by the Defense of Marriage Act, is unconstitutional.

I used to be pro-PP, too, until I learned that they lie about the services they perform. PP is great if you need BC, want an abortion, or need to check for STDs (STIs, ugh, whatever), but they're not a particularly noble organization, don't provide unique or comprehensive care, and shouldn't be used as a half-assed replacement for primary care. Women who have a PCP and/or a gyno have no real need for PP.

You want to know the big irony? Planned Parenthood gets the support of all these lefties who will call coughing the wrong way a microagression against minorities... while supporting an organization that was started as an open eugenics project with the intent of weeding out non-whites. While its founder, Margaret Sanger, was never explicitly racist she did believe that impoverished minorities were "unfit" for having so many babies and should be therefore incentivized to cull their own numbers.

But the idea that SJW don't actually care about the groups they claim to represent and just want the power to push their dogma onto society and label everything they personally disagree with as wrongthink can't possibly be true.

PP's main service by far is abortion. The 3% stat is a purposeful manipulation of medical coding and billing wherein PP gives the same weight to minor add-on or requisite services performed on individual patients who come in for abortions as they do to the abortions themselves; it's essentially meaningless and doesn't hold water based on the data PP provides. Abortion is PP's bread and butter, though of course PP isn't the only place where women can access abortions.

Also, PP does not provide prenatal care (for women who actually want to have babies) or complete physicals. There are affordable community clinics around the country where women can receive far more comprehensive care along with gynecological services.

And without insurance, I don't see how my local PP's pricing is more forgiving or cheaper than the pricing in many standard gyno practices:
