Hey man, I'm just trying to be armed with accurate information so the next time the topic comes up I'm not talking out of my ass or giving bad information. Being a non-woman, all the various "women's health" stuff is something I only know of secondhand. In my state alone, these places all provide "low-cost and/or free birth control," Pap smears/pelvic exams, etc. Essentially any community, walk-in, or free clinic can provide STI testing. Oh, and if someone lives near a college campus, there are free condoms everywhere.
Ah, and this non-PP clinic provides CHEAPER medical abortions than PP: $410 instead of $490!
PP is hardly the only place for women to get affordable contraception or other services, plus they're fucking liars and politicized nutjobs.
If private companies are already completely handling this, then yeah, why should the government fund a worse option? I'll have to see if my typical debate partner has any concrete examples of why this isn't the case. Essentially I'm letting KF argue by proxy with someone who would never talk to KF members knowingly, by acting as a middleman. Come to think of it... I've been doing that pretty much the whole time I've had an interest in politics. Bring the other side's argument and see how it does, then return with the rebuttal and see what they have to say. You learn a lot that way...
