It really shows how these scumbags and soon-to-be defendants acted with the requisite actual malice that establishes deliberate defamation even against a limited public figure and would also entitle him to maximum punitive damages.
I know it's harder for a public figure to claim defamation (which is why Ty is fighting to have Vic defined as not a public figure even though he's prepared for the possibility), but what happens if the defamer and the defamed are both public or limited public figures of about equal status?

I think she might be this girl? Was reported to have been taken in 2017, which adds up to her 2 years ago claim.

No, it wasn't her. I remember because she was actually involved with 'playing up' the hug as assault later. "He 'humped' me as you can see in the picture" or something like that and that you could 'clearly see I was weirded out by it by my face'(paraphrasing both of course). Then it was revealed, she's had pics with almost all the other VA's involved and always makes that face because that's just how she smiles, and she's so short all of them make that 'stance' to take a pic with her.

For the first ANN article here's a list of all the different versions:
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/cms/changelog/142212/
16 different versions? Fucking hell ANN good luck with the well 'researched article' defense.

She's legit because if you look in her pics, she's hangs out with Dragon Ball Z fans and trekkies. She's also apparently going to Kameha Con this year.

Poor girl. Can this be used against ANN

Maybe. Really depends on if Ty decides to sue ANN, and if this actually goes to trial. For now its filed under shit we already know. ANN used photos that were denounced by the people in them for misrepresentation. Meaning they didn't do their due dilligence by, you know, actually asking the people in the photo for contextual information. Basic journalism stuff. Where this could really hit in the nuts is if the idiots actually drag this to trial and this lady is called as a witness.

Also, this is gold. Been wanting to change the photo example of the ANN article in the OP for awhile, and this is perfect.

edit but it looks like this photo may not be in the ANN article itself but just bandied about. Not entirely sure.

Maybe he should. He should if he believes their claims to be a multi-million dollar business.

I'm not sure why they are jumping up and down begging to be sued, but I'm pretty sure the Beard firm will actually check to make sure they have the money they boast about before wasting inordinate amounts of time and money on them.

Why don't you do that?

I couldn't find one. That why I thought about contacting her, but that's a but creepy, so I just sent the video to Nick.

Well, she didn't say ANN specifically. She just said that her pictures were used by KickVic to slander Vic, and she was harassed in the process.

Honestly, the pragmatic position...sue as many that make sense to make a social precedent, not for revenge. As far as what's realistically possible, I still think ANN should be sued because they are one of the most likely for conspiracy, as their editors are pretty much the 'backbone' for intercommunication between Marzgurl and the Voice Actors. They're probably party to almost all of the potential conspiracy charges.

ANN is a barrel of snakes though due to international jurisdiction. Its not insurmountable but its added aggravation, not to mention if their corporate HQ is a one bedroom apartment adjacent to a university campus they probably don't have much that can be taken. Lynzee Loveridge herself on the other hand has no such shields, She was the principle cause for bringing ANN into this. She is also in the USA, and has kids. Ty can probably explain the rules of nature to her pretty forcefully and get the conspiracy information involving ANN's actions without actually going after ANN itself. All conjecture though. Beard and Company have been brilliant about keeping their strategy obscure.

MarzGurl is the spoke in these connections:
  1. She has reviewed for ANN in the past, meaning she at least has contact with staff of ANN.
  2. Beth Elderkin, the author of the i09 article, is linked to MarzGurl through Channel Awesome.

There are probably a few defendants who aren't going to be sued because they're likely to have money (like MarzThot) but because they're somehow associated with the others and necessary to the legal theory. Also there are certain discovery advantages for party discovery as compared to discovery from third parties.

/cgl/ is mad, but that's not surprising considering they crossover with lolcow.farms and PULL.

What photo though? She says she deleted it from facebook, so no point looking there. If kickvic were floating her picture around it shouldn't be too hard to find and verify.

It's not the girl/picture Marzgurl stole and that ANN posted and had to take down, that's this one:
