Let's say these morons are holding incriminating evidence of rape, especially pedophilic rape like they claim, how bad is it for them if they're holding onto this illicit material and waiting to Top 10 Anime Betrayals this shit in court like some kind of Law and Order 3rd act plot twist?

In Texas, everyone is a mandatory reporter of child abuse, and if you know about child abuse and don't report it, you are yourself guilty of a crime and can be imprisoned for up to a year.

Some states have what are called mandatory reporting laws where if you have knowledge that a certain crime probably occurred, it is illegal for you to not go to the authorities with that information, but since each state/region will have differences with regards to who it applies to and for what apparent crimes it applies, it's all so nebulous that if you ever find yourself in a situation where you have knowledge like that, your best bet is to probably go to a lawyer first and have them help you figure out if you need to report it. We've briefly talked about this sort of thing elsewhere in this thread.

At this point, one can argue the damage done to Vic personally, as a brand, and as a contractor in the public view of potential contracts as playing into the the assumed damages of his business dealings by loss of economic opportunities.

The way I see it, every single false accusation and invented lie is convertible into negative earnings because of assumed damages and loss of economic opportunities -- the sheer volume and spidercracks that have occurred from the shockwave can't be undone fast enough because they keep pounding that angle.

If I were the judge, I'd award damages based on how many instances of the repeated lies can be linked back to each defendant party in question.

Years ago I was in a cosplay convention and one girl cosplayed as Mai Shiranui. I was walking towards the exit behind her when she casually lifted the back of her waist cloth up and presented her butt for all to see. Of course she's wearing a T-back but I wondered if this was a prostitute fishing for a customer in a geek filled convention or a trap of some sort. So I went towards a different direction. Lesson is, kids, there are more attractive whores out there, that one was like 4/10. Wait... no. It's be careful at conventions of THOTs and bring consent forms.

My suggestion for cons, both as a frequenter and member of staff: Trust literally no one.

Assume every cosplayer is a thot, assume that your bags will get stolen and travel light, and be aware that sex tourism is the #1 draw for social rejects like Geekdom101's social group to attend.

If you're a cosplayer contestant, have your friend/SO guard your shit and your body with your life.

If you're a ProGamer whose going to cash in at a tournament, bring only your fightstick set-up, enough money for food from outside the confloor, and don't leave your shit behind for any reason unless you have someone with you to retrieve it.

And if you're unlucky/willing to be a member of con logistics, be nice.

90% of almost any and all con-rumors about any event are fabricated or half-truths that originate from something a logistics volunteer/ staff member was witnessed doing -- so just keep your head down, do your job, and try to be nice as much as humanly possible.

You never know who you may be dealing with and who they'll talk to.

The apology video is down, but I did find a still from an old link to it, and the title on youtube was "An Open Apology To Vic Mignogna, Funimation, Professional Voice Actors, and the Free Fandom". Maybe someone better at digging up deleted shit can find a copy of it.

Leaving aside the issue of mandatory reporting, you still can't suddenly drop new shit the other party hasn't been informed about in the middle of a case.

Truth is we don't actually know who is being sued yet or during what phase of operations they will be sued in. One potential positive, from my perspective, of waiting for more rocks to be thrown and vitriol spewed is that there might eventually be enough to push Vic over the edge into untying Ty's hands and letting him proverbially mag dump into every target that presents itself. If papers go out today/recently, they're likely to be more surgical and full of hugs.

The reason I ask is because of how focused a defamation case could be. For example, KickVic says they can't wait for court, since they can bring in 20+ women to testify. They actually wouldn't be able to, since they would be irrelevant unless they were in Funimation's lobby when Jamie Marchi got hair-yanked. However, if BHBH extends defamation to count not just Jamie's and Monica's specific accounts, but the harassment in general, wouldn't that be grounds to actually bring in these 20+ people?

I'm of course assuming there are that many who would be willing to be name, and would be willing to testify under oath.

The war chest is only $120,000. It's not enough to go after every possible target and especially not enough to go after multiple targets from whom nothing can be recouped. At some point, decisions will need to be made about where to focus the legal time and money for maximum value.
