Dude, girls love to love and they love to be loved. When you're around someone you really like, you develop what's called attachment. You start to integrate everything they do into your life. You develop in-jokes and patterns that just become something you expect every day. Without that other person, you feel empty and alone. This is why two people can be together for the rest of their lives and stay content. If you love a pianist and they like to play a specific song, every time you hear that song you'll think of them, even when you're away, even if they're gone forever. That's how it works.
