So, before Shane inserted himself into this conflict the same way the obvious loser of the group inserts themselves into the "cool kids" lunch table, or the same way the Vic supposedly assaulted his victims, was he in actual danger of litigation? Like, people shit talk on Twitter all the time, lets be real about that, I don't think it would be that hard to convince other people they were just being a little brat online. But why on Earth would Shane want to be in on this Lawsuit, unless... unless he's actually convinced himself that they're going to win. Oh my god, everything makes sense to me now. They legitimately think they'll win if brought to court, that's why they won't stfu. What leaps of logic they must have made to arrive at that conclusion, I actually want to know. It would be a funny story if nothing else. I think in a past life, these bozos must have made a deal with an Outer God, and now that they've been reborn the Crawling Chaos decided to take what it's owed, so it took their sanity while leaving their intelligence, if that makes any sense at all.
I don't even think it's that, I think they just can't fathom a reality where they are actually held accountable for their actions by the law. They don't realize ruining a man's career through twitter without any real evidence has a cost that they are going to have to pay sooner or later. Or maybe they DO know it's wrong and are just too terrified to admit it.

So, for those wondering, the latest Twitter timeout Nick went through was the post where he said "His anus" in reply to somebody asking where a KickVicer got info.

Seriously, that's it. I'm betting it was the Raised by Wolves faggot.

This is what he sent me.

I asked him if he appealed, or had to wait for the clock to run down. No reply yet. It probably doesn't even matter.

As we wait till the Monday after Kamehacon, I'm gonna take the opportunity to talk about what's going on with the American Dragon Ball fandom at the moment in case anyone is interested.

Today, April 5th, is actually Akira Toriyama's birthday. Funimation decided to take the opportunity today to reveal the details of their "30th anniversary set" for DBZ.

https://www.funimation.com/dbz30th/?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=032019-hv-dragonballz-30th http://archive.is/idTNq

People were already not happy with what little details there were prior to this. They were not gonna do the release unless they got 500 reservations. The news revealed they need 3000 reservations to get to printing. I say it makes Funimation look like the bush leagues that they need people to reserve orders before doing a big new release for their biggest property. And it's not a new master or anything.

Funimation has already had a rocky history with the home media release of DBZ. The masters they own are in terrible condition and every release from them has some problem or another. The single 3 eps. per DVD are incomplete but are in the original aspect ratio. The 2007 dvd release has a terrible dnr remastering to it and has cut footage from top to bottom to make it 16:9. There was a blu ray release with a completely new remastering in 4:3 that only had 2 volumes released at which point they just stuck their old 16:9 masters onto blu-ray. The "best' but still with its problems are the Dragon Box release of DBZ which comes from Japan in 2003 at a max resolution of 480p. Not to mention, these releases come out, get cancelled, and start again, all within months of each other.

It's laughable that a release from more than 15 years ago looks better than their fancy new anniversary release that costs 350 bucks up front. Don't just listen to me, look for yourself.

I imagine this new release will be shilled by Funimation cronies in the following weeks and presumably at Kamehacon. Don't fall for it.

Nick has mentioned that Toei has possibly caught wind of all of this. I'm skeptical but Nick has had a good track record to all of this so it's all quite possible. I have not heard much of their involvement with the franchise in America, but that may have changed in recent years. In particular with the mishandling of another one of their important properties, One Piece, by 4kids. Supposedly, once Funimation got the license, Toei and the creator himself, Eichiro Oda, had to approve the main cast and other decisions. When Super got announced, it took a long time for Funimation to announce that they even got the license. If Toei is so much more involved and controlling nowadays, I wouldn't put it past them that they are the reason for its slow localization process.

With the legal fiasco their actors have brought onto them, their awful releases/scheduling, and Toei supposedly keeping an eye on all of this, I think Funimation has found themselves in between a rock and hard place. At least when it comes to Dragon Ball.

TL;DR - I believe that Funimation is at a cross roads at the moment with the Dragon Ball license. If what is going around the grapevine is to be believed, these next few weeks will be very important towards the future of how DB is handled in America. Funimation has screwed up too many times from top to bottom and it might finally come back to bite them in the ass.

They did a similar thing with their Vision of Escaflowne release, which I think was actually crowdfunded rather than just requiring preorders.

That was also a laughable disaster.

There are much smaller companies that have managed to do this and deliver a fantastic product. Animego comes to mind. I dunno what Funimation's fucking problem is.

He's taking Nick's tweet at face value. Shane is so stupid that his mind can only think of literal interpretations of a comment.
So it's like that time Shane totally believed Kamehacon when they said that noone influenced their decisions to bring/cancel guests. Shane, I understand it's hard to pick up subtleties in written form, but come one. You can write, so I assume you have to have some reading comprehension.

The irony of Shane calling people confused :story:

Is Shane legitimately too stupid to understand what the joke is? April 15 is obviously tax day, he got that part. It's also the Monday after Kamehacon, which Nick has speculated (or perhaps not speculated) is when the lawsuits get filed. A retainer is a fat chunk of money you give a lawyer up front to hold in trust and pay themselves out of as they rack up billable hours and costs.

The joke, which is ruined by explaining it, is that April 15 is a day a lot of people are going to need to take that nice tax refund and give it straight to a defense lawyer.

Is lolcow farms the bastard child that no one talks about?
[hears scurrying]
Get back in the attic! Who told you to come down?
As far as I'm aware, lolcow farms is a shitty vagina version of 4chan and kiwifarms. Their userbase is primarily female and they obsess over bitching about makeup, kpop stars and cosplay whores.

So has anyone gone undercover and tried to sneak into the Kickvic circle? Not to do a gay ops, but just to gather some info, like when Jamie Marchi's DMs revealed that she was HOPING and underage kid got assaulted. God what a bitch.
