Honestly this is kinda the best case scenario, it’ll mean the people who think he’s just pocketing the money and been hoarding up a nest egg are wrong. He’s going to be right back to begging for tax money again next year, and he’s prematurely drying up the paypig well faster and faster each year. He only even has this chance because of one mental midget who gave him that absurd amount of money, one day when he needs the cash the big whale isn’t going to show, and it’ll snowball from there

Quick little hypothetical question for y'all:

If Phil hit his $5000 goal today; if Phil told us after his Conn trip that he paid off his taxes entirely, somehow showing proof that the $17k was all covered with the last few months of income; if he told us that he was relaxed and feeling positive or whatever; and then he NEVER talked about taxes or save the house ever again...how would you feel about the intense begging of the past year and a half? Would it have been worth it? Would you still consider him manipulative? Was he justified in his panic? Would you keep paying attention to him or just stop caring without constant money emergencies?

Ignoring that literally none of this will happen--if Phil provided proof that he actually owed $17k (or more, as he actually claims) in taxes and that he set aside the money he got from E7, and these two begathons (plus extra from other months), I think most people here would still want to know why he didn't set aside literally any money for the whole of 2018. He had no major financial woes (Youtube channel being down for less than 3 weeks was more than covered by Tut), so there was no surprise that he could blame.

He's not justified in his panic, because his story about having to sell the house is hot garbage. He has made literally no major changes to his spending to try and save money or put it toward paying down credit cards. The only minor change I'm aware of is dropping PSVue. But he's still paying for Hulu, Netflix, two internet lines, the WWE Network and god knows what else. I can't speak for anyone else, but this is the thing that irks me the most. He literally refuses to consider doing anything that might require a sacrifice on his end--he won't do the legwork to find a management company for the CT condo because $500-$800 a month isn't worth his time, he won't stop going out once a week and eating 3 meals out with Kat (reasonable estimate of ~$120-$140 each time they do it, plus whatever they buy) on that day, he won't listen to any of the legitimately good ideas his viewers come up with if they require even one iota of effort on his part, and he won't even do simple shit like sell those dumbass statues that he literally has piled in a fucking walk-in closet.

It's possible he wouldn't talk about taxes again, but he would just shift to a new reason for begging--his bills or his debts or whatever he thinks will drive the money.
