Nah, if Toei is gonna own them, they will own them whole balls included. They'll be Toei US. They have enough weeabucks to establish an animation studio outside Japan, they will have enough weeabucks to shortchange Funi's VAs performance.
Sony owns Funimation so Toei isn't going to be absorbing them ever, but there's nothing stopping them pulling the rights to their IPs. Sony probably wont be too happy with their 143 million dollar purchase being worth a whole lot less if they lost the Dragonball rights.

Probably get Viz to dub future projects, they seem to get a lot of Shonen Jump anime.

Sony already owns Funimation, though.

Oh right. Scratch that idea then. They can have Toei Philippines do the job. They already have the TV broadcast animation they damn well could do it. They already have the call center jobs over there so what's stopping them to just pay a writer and director to move there and just use local talents?

Toei has options. Options Funi's VA would not like one bit.

Or they could sell the licenses to Sentai, which is over in Houston. Established infrastructure, VA pool nearby, familiar with the state laws, etc.

The level where this stuff goes on, Sony is going to be talking to Toei. Nobody at Funimation is even going to be in on those talks. They will just wake up and find out they have no rights at all, and Toei will have assigned the rights to people who aren't Funimation.

Conveniently Sony owns people who aren't Funimation. Aniplex!

I bet when this all started, the Iago who pulled the strings behind this nonsense convinced himself he was Abdelt Dessler.

In reality, they are that incompetent Hermann Goering ripoff who got his ass cucked hard by Dessler then got it shot off.

Meanwhile, I'm pretty sure the Primarch is gonna come out of this like Juzo Okita, but when the enemy is this stupid, there won't be a need for the Wave Motion Cannon.

tl;dr for non-Uchuu Senkan Yamato fans: The shit is falling apart in real time and the legal bloodbath is gonna be hilarious.

Ok now I know everyone is focusing in Nick's Toei pulling rights hypothesis for Sabat's tour getting cancelled but he stated two others. One other hypothesis is that he did it in solidarity with Monica. What was the other one? That it was a legit scheduling conflict?

I got that reference. Granted, I only ever watched 2199/2202.

And to think, all they needed to do was just not say anything. Vic would've died a slow death and people wouldn't have made note. I doubt KiwiFarms would've gotten involved because there would be no cows to be had.

That Sabat told Monica that he'd support her and pull out, not expecting such a scenario to actually happen. When Vic did get brought back, Sabat shit bricks and hummed and hawed, deciding to kill the tour, but still attend KamehaCon.

The first one was that Sabat threatened to cancel the tour if Vic was invited back.

The second one was that Sabat showed solidarity to Monica, but when Vic "unexpectedly" came back to KamehaCon, Sabat decided to cancel his tour in order to show solidarity with Monica and at the same time attend Kameha Con.

The third is the whole Toei JP speculation.

The first theory is that Sabat is making good on his threat to drop Kameha Con, or at least the tour.

The second is that Sabat, sympathetic to Rial making good on her threats, decided to follow suit and leave.

The last is that Toei threatened to sue the voice actors and Kameha Con and pressured them into cancelling the con.
