It’s not as big a problem with anime because it’s all produced in Japan, meaning until something drastic changes there, the biggest chunk of the content is pretty safe from infection.

The main way Western companies can exert influence is through dubs, and a big chunk of the community already avoids dubs like cancer, so it’s not like they’re reaching a particularly wide audience.

If they wanna do that with subs too, well... people have been making fansubs since anime first came to the West for free. If a fan sub is the only way to view a work as close to the original as possible (e.g. a superior product you don’t need to pay for) then they’re just asking people to leave their platforms and Pirate their shows.

Sony And Toei will not come to blows. Yes Sony America is making content decisions out of California. But they still ultimately answer to Tokyo. Sony And Toei will come to an agreement that they have a problem, and that the problem must be fixed. And that fix will likely involve purging all of the Texas morons. Likely Vic as well. As he is damaged goods at this point. That is part of why he is suing. For compensation to make up for the losses caused by the damage to his reputation. He’ll be the only one of these morons not working the late shift at Starbucks.

All of this begs the question: Why do they do it, if they know it's going to fail? Key to the above is that SJWs believe that customers, by definition, should have no rights, and that the consumerbase ergo must concede to their demands. I'm mostly sure that this stems from the fact that most are communists and don't know how to economics, but the overarching issue is that for them, ruining a franchise like this is win-win: If it does well anyway, it proves the ideology right, and if it fails, it keeps the franchise out of the hands of those loathsome customers.

In the end, economic self-interest will bring an end to this sort of entryistic behavior, but it's going to get worse before it gets better.

This message comes from the Wil Wheatons, the Felicia Days, the Zoe Quinns and Brianna Wus — endorsed and backed by culture vulture opportunists propped up by cultural Marxism and other ideological structures that support frauds like Anita Sarkeesian.

They cozy up to the companies and whisper the lies about sales numbers they know nothing about or outright cook to them hand it off to the journalist classes both inside and outside of the industry developers.


People like Jessica Price and Lauren Atencio-Cooper then pound the never-ending drumbeat that the group being infiltrated and converted is filled with fans who are being bullied by these toxic subsets, when in reality they're signalling a invasion.

What was once a silent majority akin to shareholders of stock in the gaming hobby now are being outnumbered 3:1 by these culture vulture migrants — being drown out by the drum of Progressive Leftist political dogma substituted in place of actual fan call-and-response;

But on paper and the metrics, the information matches up to what they were told: people want to be lectures, people will sit and eat this shit up.


But, when it all comes crashing down over time, the companies are left their holding the bag of shit while those vultures profit off the deals they made and the promotion they got from exploiting the companies for self-profit.

The companies, not believing that intel they paid good money for could be lying to them (becoming victims of the sunken cost fallacy that they just need to get it right this time), or that those bad actors used them, keep repeating the process — inevitably making the same character mistakes again until it destroys them;


All of this creating a non-confirming identitarians out of any normie and turncoat who would parrot it; They want to see the base destroyed and don't want to assimilate into the hobbies they destroy — they strictly seek to reproduce the grifts, either for themselves or for the original grifters.

These people spread like a hive-mind, attacking anything that isn't progressive enough so I can be primed and colonized for another takeover, continuing on ad-infinitum.

That's mainly why they prefer Divide and Conquer strategies and playing long-term informational warfare — makes it easier to make people into converts when you can scream louder than them, especially when weaponizing the power of feminist theory to the extreme with the methods of The Glass Cliff to ensure people listen and believe women in mid/high ranking positions of business or obsessive culture.

actually, he may come out of this fine because he isn't acting like them at all and based on what i've seen and heard, he has friends in Toei, even if lower. he's going to be fine. worst case, Toei wants him to lay low until the end of his lawsuit and then he'll be in their good graces again and until then, well... vic already is getting donations

And if the answer to this question is because Vic is "oh so powerful" in the VA circuit, then why was he not powerful enough to prevent this from blowing up like it did?
