It's pathetic, but the only regular form of social interaction she has is through comments. Bibi, Rina, her mom, Peetz, her aunt - they only talk to her occasionally. She's not truly close with anyone. She is probably jealous as fuck of Bibi's relationship with his sister. She probably had convinced herself that their lackluster relationship was normal. She loves denial. That's probably why she once changed the title on the "cook with my annoyed boyfriend" video. At first it was just "cookbang with boyfriend!!!" or some shit. She only changed the title after everyone in the comments pointed out that he hated her. I think she tried to hide the video altogether at one point too. Anyone who watched it could see he was done with her and there was no semblance of a relationship there. Maybe she thought every relationship settles down into something like that.
Then Bibi's sister came along and ruined it. She saw that he was a totally normal and happy dude interacting with his sister. His sister cooked for him the way she should have been. They probably went out together and did actual things. They probably talked about their jobs and interests with each other. And all right in front of Jabba. She saw that it was just her that Bibi was done with. And now every day the truth is thrown in her face as she has to watch a normal, well-adjusted, working, normal woman who likely has friends, a social life, interests outside of food, etc., etc.
I think she truly became completely unhinged when the sister entered the picture. Before she moved in, Chantal was able to live in her little enormous self-created bubble where she had control. She could believe she was just like everyone else - only she didn't hide it. She could believe that she wasn't that big. She could believe that sure, she was obese and needed to work on things eventually, but that Bibi was still there and people online gave her asspats all the time, so her situation was pretty good. Of course she'd have mini wake-up calls in the hospital, but things would quickly go back to normal.
But now I'd like to think that her bubble has been popped. She can't really pretend everything is okay when she can't help but compare herself to Gnima. She can no longer pretend her relationship with Bibi is fine and that they've just settled down. She can't binge like she wants to in her own house anymore. She can't shit and fart and joke about it out loud. She can't keep stacks of Pizza Pizza boxes around, not even the one for BeBeJunes in the middle of the living room. She can't even "work" without being so self-conscious that she has to hole up in her car in the parking garage.
I bet if we went pack to see when the cycle really started picking up, that it was on Bibi's sister's moving in. Just my speculation though - it could be any number of things and you Farmers are always on point.
