Which still puzzles me. All they had to do was show up. Monica is going to need money for a lawsuit. Wiedenheft is presumably going to help her brother out financially. With these kinds of looming legal expenses (completely ignoring the fact that showing up would keep them 100% safe from breach of contract) why would they turn their nose up at money?

Could be for the statement that more people supports Monica then Vic only to be proven wrong?
If she did get a crowed larger then Vic's it would 'show' that people believed them and no amount of money would be better then that during a 'potential' lawsuit for them

Buddy I feel ya, of course my respect for RT died way before this back when they started shoving gender politics into RWBY and obnoxiously shouting that they were doing it to the heavens, well that along with the other politics that were shoved in there along with pushing the story and animation to the back seat. If I remember correctly, she never was on the 'picnic' itself, but inserted herself by making a statement at the same time everyone else dropped out. Of course it took some of us here no time at all to find the story about the brother. Twink-frieza on the other hand, he was on that picnic but has mostly just been gif-posting and pushing other cons on twitter.
