You see, the reason i decided to join actively the ISWV side, wasn't only because it was the right thing to do to stop a group of mad people into destroying a good man's life (which is a big part in itself), but because i am a big DB fan, and my favorite character is and has always been Broly, even more so the new one. And while my first choice of Broly will always be the japanese VA, Bin Shimada, Vic is a very close second one and one of the only, if not the only, english VA of DB that i don't mind at all.

Now, the question is this, even if we win the case (which we obviously will, it's obvious), how big are the chances of Vic getting to voice Broly once he comes back? I can't see Failnimation and Sabat re-casting him unless Toei makes them do it, or if Toei takes away the whole IP of DB from Funi to another company, which i don't honestly know how big the chances are. What is your opinion on this, guys?

Honestly if he is really Toei's handpicked voice for Broly I really doubt they will even consider letting Funi or anyone else pick another person. Of course, should Vic be found somehow to be a complete degenerate rapist of a bajillon of women and a shoe they would let it go to not get the bad optics of protecting an abuser but seeing as that's unlikely I'd say Vic has a pretty high chance of staying as Broly.

As the chances of Vic being found guilty are as high as Shame's and Ms Ron Soye's IQ put together (so, less than 0), that's some good news. And about the awkward part, well they deserve it, and they better close their eyes and shut their mouth when Vic pass by, flaunting all the money he has taken from them.

It is largely dependent on how much Toei does in light of this. The odds of Toei giving Sony/Funimation the boot is honestly up in the air.

I think it’ll depend on how the court rules on Vic’s “termination”. Was it malicious? Was it for someone else’s gain? Was it to cover up something more sinister? If the court answers yes to any of those questions, Toei’s probably going to come down HARD.

Of course that begs another question: if Toei comes down on Funimation, who’s losing their jobs? I think Rial and Marchi are at the top of the list, with Sabat and Schemmel right behind them. Several others are up in the air.

If, and I stress 'IF" Toei does it right, they will pull the IP and relocate production to another company. Since Vic is the only person in this mess that approaches 'irreplaceable' to the brand's popularity (and he isn't but he is moreso than the rest) then it makes sense to go with the best odds. those odd favor replacing the rest of the crew and banking on the star of the show to carry it through whatever waves may rise.

It really depends if Toei lets Funimation keep the license after this and how hands on they are in the aftermath.

If the dust settles with Funimation and Sabat keeping full control, a recast is basically guaranteed.

If Funimation keeps the license on the condition that Toei is going to be calling a lot of the creative shots from here on out, I think Vic has a fairly good chance of keeping his job. The Japanese are pretty autistic about a character keeping their voice actor throughout all forms of media.

If Funimation loses the license, then Vic will probably keep his role. Vic's still a very popular voice actor and the license will probably be going to LA, so location shouldn't be an issue for Vic. The only way I could see him getting scrapped is if a KickVic individual ends up as the head of casting or if the new studio goes scorched earth on the Funimation cast to develop their own identity.

Like I said, there's no charges against Nick here. But Nick IS involved: He's running the gofundme, he introduced Vic to Ty, and he acts as a mouthpiece for Vic's case and cause. He's substantially connected enough to warrant a deposition (remember: the court can't assume what he WILL say; only what he MIGHT say), but I would also assume there are logistical problems bringing him to Texas.

But point taken. It'd be pretty up-hill.

Vic will definately be deposed by the defense. But I wonder: who ELSE would/could the defense depose? Remember, they need to show evidence that Vic is a creepy deviant who preys on women and children.

Defending themselves at all would be a wasteful squandering of money. I'm laboring under the delusion they intend to mount some sort of defense. (Okay, my turn to be , I guess.) Though, in all likelihood, the lawyers will get together, look eachother in the eyes, and settle on some huge undisclosed sum. I REALLY hope Ty doesn't let them off without a very Very VERY public apology from EVERYONE INVOLVED. But that's just the nature of law: these things tend to fizzle out unceremoniously.

That doesn’t make him a valid target for defendant discovery. He setup a legal defense fund for someone. There really isn’t anything that they can go after with Nick. And you sure as shit don’t want to drag another lawyer into it if you don’t have to. None of their lawyers will let them drag Nick in. He is not a party to the disputes.

The guy in the video is Rickey, an ADR Engineer at Funi. He worked with Vic on Juni Taisen when he was directing. Remember that video of Monica at work smiling while Vic filmed? This guy was the engineer there. Is this the first Funi employee we've seen speak up for him?

Toei made them do it the first time. Toei will probably do so again.
