Summary: This guy, Rickey Watkins II, is an Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) Engineer for Funimation Studios and he worked on DragonBall Super: Broly. He's at Kameha Con; he had a panel yesterday and has another panel this afternoon. During his panel yesterday, Vic was in the audience, and he told Rickey to stop by afterward to say hello. So Rickey and his fiancee went up to the top floor where Vic was, and he saw the line was really long, so they walked around to the front of the line. Vic spotted them, stepped out and gave him a hug, then Vic said he was going to embarrass Rickey real quick. So Vic got everybody's attention, and called out to the whole room, "This is Rickey Watkins, the greatest engineer at Funimation", and said when they see him, give him some love. Rickey and his fiancee were shocked at how epic it was. Vic gave Rickey a custom poster and signed it for him. Afterward Rickey went downstairs and bought a giant Broly statue which he's hoping to get Vic to sign today. His panel today is at 3:00 in Panel Room 5 and he'll be talking about audio engineering and the work that he did on Broly, so if you're at Kameha Con today, he says to stop by to say hi and take a picture with him.
I'm starting to think that the reason Vic was such a diva during work was because he was dealing with a group of incompetents -- not Rickey, though, he's an engineer and those tend to be fairly competent. Vic seems to have quite the long spanning career and probably a much more professional background, I'd throw diva tantrums too if I was dealing with VAs like Schemmel and Sabat or even directors that have no idea what they're doing. I don't think even saints have that kind of patience.

They may have taken Toye's legal advice to heart too much.
This, though... this makes me irrationally angry to read. It's innocent until proven guilty and while that's usually applied to criminal court it also can apply to civil matters. Although it doesn't really matter in this case since even if what they accuse Vic of having done had happened these idiots have already proven there to be a civil conspiracy and genuine malice. Not only that, but some people may have actually violated Texan law for not reporting it.

Honestly, I wish civics was a class you had to get a C or more in to pass high school. This is embarrassing.

I don't even believe that any more even though I started out thinking it was the most plausible of the accusations against him. Now, I think it is the people he was dealing with who were the divas. Everything this pack of babies in KV has done since has done nothing but confirm it. These are tantrum throwing babies who can't take a no.

that'll make the coming trial even better. they're more unhinged than waid.

let that sink in

Back when the environmental nuts had the limelight, I spent quite a bit of time opposing/fighting against them IRL and online. The first thing you notice is their need to lie even when the truth would serve them better. The diva aspect was also in full effect as well. So was using young girls and children to mainline the narrative into the public mind.

The default position to deal with any radical left group should be "They are lying." Once you accept the truth of it (and your ongoing experiences are guaranteed to bear out that truth), you force "NO" on them. Any legal way you can. Mockery, information warfare, political action and foremost, LEGAL action where it's needed and effective.

Today we can crowdfund that action as we see with Zak and Vic. We HAVE to take advantage of it and make "NO" stick.

Even Waid had the sense to shut up after paper started flying. So far, only Marchi has done that in this case.
That and going by the texts, he realized he fucked up and tried to protect himself and only got complacent because Meyer was preparing a lawsuit in the shadows for so long. Now these weirdos doing everything so openly even KNOWING the Beard and the Amazons are on the case is beyond crazy.

Vic seems to have quite the long spanning career and probably a much more professional background.
Well, he was a theater actor before becoming a voice actor, and he was a police officer in Ocean City before he was a theater actor. Definitely professional background material.

Which District should one be watching on PACER if they're wanting to see these docs drop?

Nick was hinting at Eastern District of Texas. Rial/Toye are in Richardson. That's in Dallas/Collin Counties. Dallas is in the Northern District. Collin is in the Eastern District. Funimation is also in a city split between two counties that are in the Northern and Eastern Districts. Jamie Marchi is in Dallas.

Vic currently lives in LA. That would make Eastern District of Texas a reasonable location under diversity jurisdiction.

Even a single California defendant would defeat complete diversity, though, and eliminate that as a source of federal jurisdiction. For instance, Sean Schemmel is also an LA resident (at least on Wikipedia).

But the case could also be filed in state court and there might be reasons that's preferable.

Eastern District of Texas seems most likely. If you have an RSS reader, point it at this:
(corrected)

Filter for "Mignogna" and you'll be notified immediately (as well as of any updates).

Northern District is possible, I suppose.

If it's in state court it would be really annoying to get notified about it.

Not only a better area, Vic got a WHOLE floor just for him, and even then it appears it was nearly filled, Sabat on the other hand...well, it looks like they put him in the corner besides the bathrooms :story:
I'm utterly clueless where these sorts of matters are concerned so someone fill me in: Was Vic always going to be given his own floor, or did the other attendees act like they were so scared of the hug-monster that he needed to be placed somewhere away from them, preferably on a wholly different floor? It would be very funny to me if others insisted Vic be separated and he still drew larger crowds, and that separating him allowed con staff and attendees to see very clearly who the biggest draw really was.

Also, now that I know Vic was on his own floor, away from the rest of the con, that makes Dominique's ploy all the more ridiculous because she had to go seek him out on his own floor in order to fuel her "unsafe" narrative. I also don't get Dominique's appeal. I'm a cishetero-female so can someone with a boy-dick explain to me why her ass specifically is so thirsted after? Why is that ass in particular worth looking like a moron on social media? Does Sabat really have no access to better quality women and he really thinks that this donkey-jawed skank who dresses her little girl up to be a prostithot in matching costumes is even worth masturbating over? I don't get it.

I know this has been very hard on Vic but I am so glad he is fighting back. My own little pond has been affected by #metoo bullshit, mostly complaints based on a need for revenge against those more successful or to punish wrongthink, and I'm so tired of seeing good people who create being ground down by those whose only skill in life is to destroy. I have no illusions that this will affect other potential witch hunts - every zealot thinks their lies are justifiable and there will always be stupid people dying to be woke to back them up - but if The Beard and the ALoD pull this off, the joy of watching as KickVic-ers get their shit wrecked and hard, will be a nice consolation.

Ty hinted that R1 was four defendants. It's now safe to say, with 99.9% certainty, that Soye is one of them.

I think the other three are Marchi, Rial, and Funimation themselves. Soye and the two bimbos have done the worse of the defamation, and Funimation caused the worse financial damage to Vic.

You could do all four of those in either (Texas) state court or federal court. I'm inclined to agree with @AnOminous that Eastern District would be likely if it's filed in federal, but I still think they will file it in state.

We'll know soon enough.

...did anyone in that thread actually attempt to correct this max-level exceptionalism?

Forget not passing a civics course-- this person doesn't even sound like they're out of middle school and still need their parents' permission to go online.
PULL apparently has a rule against counter thought, and it's considered white knighting to do so... I'll just let that sink in.

What a pleasant person.

I've speculated there are reasons not to file in federal but to choose state instead. There are other defendants likely to be added later who would defeat diversity, for instance, if joined. It could seriously complicate things if you had one case going in federal court and later had to file another in state court because the District Court denied your motion to join the others.

At least some of the potential defendants are in Los Angeles much as Vic is, like Schemmel as one example.

So if some absolute drooling idiot thinks "guilty until proven innocent" is the rule, it's "white knighting" to point out that that is completely retarded.

Sean is also a diva in the booth (Shocking ? I know) apparently he complains about everything according to Sabat on a panel, there's some days where if Sean doesn't feel like recording (like I mean no legitimate reason to not record, just not in the mood), he just cancels scheduled recordings. That imitation of Vic in the booth he did might actually be what Sean does in the booth ??? if you don't believe me, listen to him talking about recording sessions during his interview with Geekdom101 on Geekdoms channel.

On PULL, I honestly couldn't handle their spergyness. How can you have so much wrong, idiocy and obvious reeeeing collectively into two Fucking pages?

Even Waid had the sense to shut up after paper started flying. So far, only Marchi has done that in this case.

Marchi must currently be shitting her britches after those comments she made on wanting Vic's balls and needing a minor to get raped just so they have a case against Vic. She might be the only one that started taking things seriously after she saw all the ethics complaints against Nick and Ty failed and realised that the law doesn't always accommodate feminist bull shit or outrage mobs. Maybe she actually lawyered up and started following the advice they gave unlike a certain Soy Cuck
