Let me explain how you get a 5 octave range. For many years you keep pushing the highs. and i have never had an addams apple. And my pitch was always extremely high. What i had to work on more than highs were the low range.

But after the guy cut my throat i lost a lot. They were shocked i was even able to talk so shortly after the attack. They never expected me to regain my voice at all.

Wait, isn't a 12-gauge's effective range around 50 yards with slugs and 35 yards for buckshot. Although, this shouldn't matter when you're turning people into Swiss cheese from your porch, but still.

NerdShamer you are correct. about 50 yards is the max range on a inproved choke shot gun about 75 with a full choke. That would be using the 3 inch mag shell 00B Slugs are a bit further but beyond 75 yards range are not very accurate.


That is why you get a rifle. a 270 is my favorite. high vol about a 150 grain bullet and i prefer a boat tail slug. But you can push the 270 to about 180 grains, max. Then it looses it flat trajectory.

I can shoot up to 500 yards out and hit my target easily. Normally it only take one or two shots. If you go out around here you need a gun. If not for the snakes then the wild boar. Deer are no big deal they just run from you.

Now just 20 miles from here they killed a timber rattler that was 18 feet long and as fat around as a mans leg. The snakes tail came in at 29 rings.
