I tried reading that thread. They are utterly convinced the it is Vic who has to disprove the claims, all of them, to win his suit.
They are so completely backwards on the way this works.

He might settle with Funimation but Ty already mentioned if they act civil then he would settle out of court, only Funimation fits while the rest doesn't so we know at bare minimum 3 are going to court regardless.

Look at the wording. They informed him he was fired, it doesn't say they fired him. After all, Funi could fire for any reason and didn't even need an investigation to do so.

What it seems to me is that whoever it was at Funi couldn't even face Vic so had the overlords at Sony break the news.

Except personal/community healing doesn't involve destroying someone's livelihood and attempting to murder someone by having them commit suicide due to the severe emotional trauma you inflict on them. At least not in reality. I forget a lot of times that these speds live in their own little lala wonderland where their truth is the absolute truth.

Edit: I just have to say that personal/community healing bit really irks the fuck outta me. As an actual victim of sexual assault, I had to do a lot of personal healing on my own to get over what happened and even then I still have nightmares about it sometimes. What I don't do though is go on twitter to make my pain publicly known for all to see because frankly it's no one's fucking business unless I want it to be someone's business and I don't weaponize my trauma to attack innocent people or even go after my rapist. I don't go after his livelihood, I don't try to turn the world against him because all I care about is getting better and being HAPPY. Seeing all this exceptional shit unfold with all of these wannabe whamans pretending to be victims just...fuck man. Pisses me the fuck off.

That's always a risk when these sorts of things become "totally raped you guys." Words like "rape" or "sexual assault" start to lose meaning because they're applied to things that normal people wouldn't see as such, and eventually these normies will hear a real survivor's story and instinctually doubt it, not out of malice, but just because they've become used to those words being applied to dad jokes and hair touching. See also "Nazi," "pedo," "homophobe," etc.

Of course it's possible, but doing so seems to go against the temperament Vic has shown so far. Given the choice between putting this behind him and getting back to work (if offered) or really grinding these people into the dust, he seems far more interested in the former than the latter. I'm pretty sure I'd be the same way given his situation, and I'm far from an evangelical.

What if this got so ridiculous that we actually found our way into the plot of a bad anime. I mean tbh the opposition is so one-dimensionally stupid I wouldn't doubt that somehow we got caught up in the Akashic Records' Universal rewrite that is causing us to live within in a work of fiction. When I saw the character trending, I thought it had to do with Vic. But nope.

I know he's a nice guy, but fuck I hope he doesn't do that. Most of his colleagues turned against him, he got canned by probably the biggest anime dubbing company out there, and has his name soured for life. He should not hold back.

Ty/Vic would settle but just imagine what the terms would be. Regardless of any cash changing hands, I gotta believe that they would each individually have to very publicly admit the entire scheme and their lies one by one. Probably include a legally binding contract to not then/ever go back and say things like 'It was under duress/I don't really believe that, etc.' And likely DEFEND Vic against their former accusations going forward whenever they encounter that situation online/social media as partial restitution.

I cannot imagine any of the three stooges doing that, so I think a settlement would be unlikely.

The simply reason why Funimation is a Defendant, and Sony isn't, is because Funimation tweeted a (bullshit) rationale for his separation, and let Monica, Marchi and Soye talk mad shit about while holding themselves out as agents of the company (Funimation).

Nick went over why this isn't a wrongful termination suit in the very beginning (back when all the KickVicers were hanging their hopes on this going away based on nothing more than Texas being a at-will employment state). So it doesn't really even matter much which side made the call to separate from him (at least as far as determining Defendants). If Funimation had said jack shit, and wrangled their tards appropriately, Vic likely wouldn't have a cause of action against Funimation.

If Ty had a claim against Sony as of yesterday, you would have pulled the trigger on that. He's not scared of them. He didn't add them, because he doesn't think he has a valid claim. KickVic's projections to the contrary, he's not just randomly flinging shit and a random people.

I don't think he'd do it like that. I think he'd contact Beard quietly, and a make a contribution directly to the IOLTA account. The GFM isn't the only deposit vector. Beard said a couple of night ago he can deposit funding from other sourced in there (checks, etc.).

NOT saying that happened... but it would be funny if it did, and it hypothetically COULD.
