The suspicion for PE must be pretty low if they gave her meds, a clinic appointment, and sent her home. A d-dimer is non-specific and I can't think of a scenario in which a someone with a confirmed PE wouldn't be admitted to the hospital and put on a heparin drip pronto - in the States, that is. Is this some fuckery of the Canadian health care system or was our gorl told she's got a small DVT in her leg?
