Um, no? Gender is pretty much an exclusively human thing because it encompasses social and cultural differences between males and females, not just biological ones. There are actually quite a few animal species that can spontaneously change sexes, but don't do so because of a gender crisis or anything like that; it's usually done when there's a shortage of the other sex (too many females and not enough males and vice versa) and so that they can reproduce and pass on their genes. There are also hermaphrodite animals. But all of these things encompass sex, not gender. Not to mention that the majority of those things happen in fish and reptiles, not mammals.

Also, I really don't mean to sound insensitive, but I feel like people are going way too overboard with this "trans sensitivity" stuff. The objective fact of the matter is that over 99% of the time, having a penis does make someone male and having a vagina does make someone female. Trans people make up less than 1% of the population; in fact, most studies report that transgender people make up only 0.3 percent of the United States population. So why do we have to force this whole "always ask someone for their pronouns uwu" and "always use gender-neutral words when referring to someone" on 99.7 percent of the population? The best thing you can do is, if someone asks you to use different pronouns when referring to them (and I'm talking about actual pronouns, not bullshit like cuteself and foxself), simply just start doing so.

Tumblrinas don't realize that actual trans people, not bullshitty teenagers who want to feel special, want to be treated like normal people. A transwoman wants to live as a woman. A transman wants to live as a man. They don't want people constantly calling attention to the fact that they've switched genders because all they want to do is live as the gender they always identified as. And now people are actually forcing this shit on animals (particularly pets), who could not give less of a shit what you refer to them as as long as you feed and pet them.

Anyway, the thing that bugs me is why tumblrtots go to such lengths to not be male or female. Is there any real need to identify as polydemihemisexual, when straight, bi or gay will do just fine? It's the 21st century, whilst haters do still exist it is nowhere near as terrible as tumblr would have us believe.

It's almost as if they have some sort of prejudice against these labels and have to make stuff up to avoid using them.

Seriously, what is wrong with a white person wanting to fight for the injustices of maligned groups? MLK had a lot of white supporters and allies and they helped him get his message out. It seems to me that most SJWs are separatists and regressive as well as racists themselves when writing this junk.

I wish I'd saved a screenshot or something, but a couple years ago I saw a girl on tumblr who was ranting about seeing a girl at school wearing a rainbow pin that said ally on it. How disrespectful of her, a straight girl acting like she knew what LGBT people endure!
Except that when said tumbrite actually confronted this girl about it, it turned out she was a lesbian. Whose name is Ally.
I felt like, if any one post perfectly encapsulated what's wrong with tumblr, it was that one.

When I write, I try to make my characters realistic and flawed and complex. They're not just tools to push an agenda. And btw, I am not a 'queer author'. I hate the term queer. I'm gay. And I'm just an author. My sexuality doesn't inform my writing. I have plenty of straight and gay character, along with characters who are bisexual or not really interested in relationships. If they challenge someone to see gay people as humans or sexual brings or whatever, great. But I'm just about writing a story everyone can enjoy and get something out of.

That is glorious. Truly, truly glorious. People understanding that fiction does not work that way feels so good.

One cannot go around changing or determining the orientation or gender of characters but the person or people who actually wrote/designed/created them. These people who wear "everyone is gay and/or autistic/an otherkin/etc" goggles need to get their eyes checked out, because I think the goggles have fused to their eyeballs. Not only is it creepy as fuck, but it doesn't fucking matter 99.99999% of the time. If it's not important to the story or setting, why bring it up in the first place?

What do you think? These people are lazy, and incapable of thinking for themselves. Not indecisive, but like, actually unable to decide on things for themselves. So instead of actually doing something about it themselves, they just bitch and whine ad infinitum.
