Arin Hanson / Egoraptor / Grump - "Hey I'm Grump!" of Game Grumps fame, hypocritical SJW doxer, shat himself recording a let's play

Dream Daddy is the Dive Kick of Virtual Novels. It could best be described as a meme game that was made for the lols, but all the wrong people took it seriously.

Dive Kick was a meme, but it did do what it set out to do and turned out to be a very important jump in fighting game development and is deeply respected in the Fighting Game Community (TM).

Dream Daddy wishes it was Dive Kick.

You also hear people complain about Giantbomb because it was formed directly as a result of "video games journalism" nonsense and in partciular one of the co-founders (Ryan Davis) was really against "SJW" nonsense and would famously dunk on that crowd, Anthony Burch in particular. He died in 2013, leading to a slow change in direction of the site until the two most recent hires (Ben Pack and Abby Russel) are basically caricatures of what you would think a "game journalist" would be.

Dream Daddy for most people was a big "LOL" moment, because it pushed a ton of games out of the Top 10. Even if you like Dream Daddy (and that's fine), the idea as a Games Journalist that it's objectively better than the following games is insane.

Abby (and Giantbomb's list) of Games not better than Dream Daddy in 2017.
Resident Evil 7
Persona 5
Prey
Horizon : Zero Dawn
What Remains of Edith Finch
Assassin's Creed - Origins
XCOM 2 : War of the Chosen
Gravity Rush 2
Evil Within 2
Hellblade
Little Nightmares
Sonic Mania
Getting Over It

Arin must have called Abby up on the phone or took her dog hostage or something for her to fight like that for Dream Daddy. It shouldn't be on a Top 10 list that's populated only by indie games, much less a real Top 10 list.

EDIT - Also forgot to add Splatoon 2 and Hollow Knight to that list, jesus Abby.
What was the reaction of Giantbomb's own userbase to that list and choices? Was there actual tangible discord and criticism over it or was it all just hive-minded agreement? Are Giantbomb's members as bad as its staff?

I guess the obvious answer is Abby didn't play 10 games in 2017. I'm sure she didn't touch anything on that list, it's the only other thing to explain being such a cunt.

It's pretty split, because Giantbomb has been around so long their audience is pretty diverse. Additionally, they give their writers/editors a lot of freedom to do their own things so a lot of people aren't "Giantbomb Fans" as much as they like a few specific people on the staff at any given time. For example, a lot of the "older" crowd probably doesn't like Abby or Ben, but like Dan and Jason (or vice versa).

I personally think GB's audience trends more "Anti-SJW" than "Full SJW" primarily because most of the full blown SJWs moved over to Waypoint when Austin and Patrick went over there.

$10 for a comic isn't so bad, but I would buy that just to burn it, that anatomy is terrible, and the tumblr hairdo is just, why.

The average cost for a "real" comic is $2.99, this is nearly 300% as expensive as current DC/Marvel comics.

I just realized what Arin could have been attempting to refer to with that ridiculous “second most popular indie game” shit: Indie visual novels. While he can claim second place for the year without much issue in that very, very specific category, it’s not exactly something to boast about.

“Yeah, my $15 ultra-progressive gay dating sim was absolutely slaughtered in the public consciousness by a free anime metahorror thing released like two months later, but it still got second-place purely due to lack of competition!”

Good for them.
fuck you beat me to it, but alas.

yeah there were definitely signs matt and ryan were desperate to leave esp. with the times it was evident treating them like shit was the norm. cheers for the two. it would be hilarious if they started to work with oney or even jon.

Please, please - let that happen!

Gonna miss the little jabs/interruptions with Game Grumps though. Shit was weird.

Hell, not even kidding: right at the time they announced their departure, Oney just went and posted this:

Which many people have taken, given his recent jabs at GG and the fact that he admitted he and SuperMega have kinda butted heads before, as referring to SM leaving the office. Probably a coincidence; would be pretty funny if it wasn't.

I'm really happy for these two boys. When my roommate told me they'd left I couldnt have been more elated.

I'm sure that they left on relatively good terms with Arin & co., and their reasons are more sound as I can clearly empathize with idea of straining one's self to edit for your own content and for some weirdo and his friend making dickfart jokes every recording.

But to me, they kind of seemed tired. Matt and Ryan have expressed their displeasure with having to deal with Arin and Danny screaming like idiots during their SuperMega recordings, when those dopes have the audacity to demand silence during theirs.
Not to mention, in the 10 min Power Hour when Arin & Dan were searching for their toy dinosaurs or whatever, and practically pulled Matt & Ryan from their recording to participate in some lame whodunnit: Ryan, when he looked at the camera, just seemed done. lol
The poking and snide jokes on Oneyplays feel kinda telling too.

Just the fucking state of this channel. Revisiting Jon era stuff, really is the only splendor.

Excellent online animator Max G. (HotDiggetyDemon) makes a naughty jab at Arin in the newest episode of his Brain Dump series:

For those not in the know, Max was one of Arin's contemporaries in the Newgrounds age and still continues to create funny, well-animated videos to this day, on a semi-regular schedule. Satisfying!

Though regardless if no relationships were strained in this departure, I wonder how long before it will be til we see the channel just being playthroughs with Arin and Suzy, and then just Arin, and then just some random children ordained by a talent agency Arin will've sold the channel rights to.

With his parasocial pets on places like reddit, and the like, who deny Arin culpability of his actions and bogging down the growing minority of people tired of his lazy garbage, and Arin's fat head over phantom accolades that he genuinely thinks mean something to him, I seriously doubt there's any chance these people bounce back. We're in the falling action now, and it's a comedy of error.

How does Arin not realize he's chasing everyone away?

I apologize for double posting, but I thought it'd be apt to remind people: Arin never finished high school, so it's safe to assume his ability to realize anything but the crownings in his pants every day, is pretty minuscule.
