I'm calling it now that the entire "I Stand with Vic" movement is heading to the fate of GamerGate within 1-2 years. Yellow Flash is on stream now talking with some random asshat about a guy trying to grift money off the movement while complaining about other people grifting off the movement. Every stream Rekeita does now has someone trying to super chat about their own personal go fund me for their: "friendwhoistotallynotthemwhoneedsmoneybecauseimightlosemyhouse" or people trying to pimp their shitty youtube channel. Rekeita's unrelenting ignorance of talking to people who claim to know about GG who don't and not listening to better reason will start to tank this whole ship quickly. At some point it will spin out of control and Rekeita will be forced to remove his association with it out of fear of tanking his own brand he built to be the Metokur of the movement while TUG and Yellow flash continue on to the Ethan Ralph and Sargon paths after the movement implodes.

Thankfully the case in court will most likely be unaffected by all of this, but the current litany of orbiters around this will accelerate this into something stupid. This has the potential to derail Rekeita's grand schemes of this being a movement that supports other people falsely accused of fake sexual harassment.

They have to make those connections in order to dismiss arguments out of hand. Group identity and association, is the basis from which they argue, not facts, or proof, or evidence. Otherwise their entire group would've been blown out years ago.

Both sides have filed for a protective order of some kind, so either the court issues neither, both, or some combination. The court now has to do something, probably after oral argument, probably fairly quickly considering the nature of the hearing, possibly a telephonic hearing just for oral argument. It's more likely to be in actual court, though, if MoRon have been called as witnesses for such a hearing, the court grants oral argument, and compels them to testify.

My response was specifically about what FUNI's general counsel might be doing. I'm not talking about what MoROn and their attorney are currently up to.

The "Vic won't be available May 30th" thing is golden, because not only does it cut them off from getting Vic in before them without an agreement not to pull their discovery stunt... well, as Ty points out, now they're completely open May 30th for that hearing that they would probably be trying to delay past Vic's deposition otherwise.

It was probably meant more as a "now that the schedule is clear, let's get to your explanation," rather than a real declaration of the exact day. Like Nick when he was talking about the filing of the original petition on the Monday after Kamehacon, and it wasn't filed until that Thursday.

I've learned over the years since GG started back when I followed that whole shitshow is that journalism, no matter if it's gaming or mainstream, is all shit and all the retards that write those dumb baity articles don't know how to do research and just go with biased opinions from only interviewing one side. From what I've seen, it's always the spergy side that screeches to the media the loudest about it with their connections and they get them to either unintentionally write hit pieces or to write an article that is completely factually wrong, making them look extremely inept. It's not hard to be a fucking journalist, a goddamn monkey can do it. Interview both sides, do your FUCKING RESEARCH and write an article that is neutral. Boom.
I wouldn't be surprised if Vic wins that you'll see articles pop up about how a predator bullied victims into submission using the law or some stupid gay shit like that.

Nick is a firm believer of free speech and he doesn't censor people in his chats. He's said it himself multiple times when his viewers tell him about it and most of it is left to the discretion of his wrenches. So if viewers see an opportunity to use his superchat feature as advertisement, if he's getting paid for it, why would he not? Takes 2 seconds for him to read it and then is on to the next. So it doesn't really bother me, I still like watching his videos whether they are about the lawsuit with Vic or not. We have the option of skipping his superchat reads after the stream is uploaded if it's really a pet peeve of yours.
TL;DR: It's not that serious or a big problem, it's tame, he believes in free speech and his content is enjoyable regardless.
