Ah this is very helpful to know, or I mean having it explained. This helps a lot to understand what it means in detail. Sorry for chiming in, just felt a need to send my gratitude.

Here's the thing: I've been here since the DaddyO5 shitshow. From then to now, I have never seen KF get mentioned by more mainstream channels as much as I have since KickVic started. But even back then, I picked a name that I don't use anywhere else, save for the lolcow email account I created solely for use on KF so that, if someone tried to look my user name up, they would find nothing about me offsite.
As an example of what could happen, let's look at the guy I was responding to. In the screenshots he posted, he showed that he has the same name here that he uses on Twitter. (Not gonna lie, I facepalmed hard when I saw that...) Well, I could go to his Twitter profile and skim through his tweets for any personal info. Now, lets say he went for dinner with friends and posted a pic of the restaurant. With one pic, he's not only narrowed down my search, but I could reverse image search the pic and, hey, one of his friends posted a pic of them there on fb. Oh, look, said friend was nice enough to tag him. Now I have his real name. And with that, I could make his life hell on earth if I wanted to.
We've seen KickVic use similar methods before. I doubt they'll stop using them anytime soon. If you oppose them, they will try to do anything they can to take you down, especially with people like MarzGurl openly encouraging dox on people she doesn't like.
Be smart when posting here. I don't think that's too much to ask for. If your personal info gets out there due to not being careful on KF, then that's all on you.
