The decision and research wasn't on him. Leanna was asking on forums what states have the lowest business taxes. They were originally looking at Florida but somebody got her excited about Washington. She made the decision and Phil followed along because he is the weak sister of any relationship. From moving to Seattle because Leanna wanted it for her soap business to him not being able to play a multiplayer game if Brian and Kekon don't want to, he is a slave to the stronger will.
It's not just about the state, there's plenty of areas in Washington that are much more affordable and just as white. You don't move to somewhere like Renton unless it's a career move, and you're a legit upper middle-class big shot. Not a wannabe big shot like Phil.

I have to disagree.

According to the soap blog Leanna posted, Leanna wanted Florida because it was closer to her family, it was a cool place for young people (her words not mine), it was near a soap supply distributor so it was cheaper soap, and taxes. Phil didn't want Florida because it was too hot and there are hurricanes.

The original plan Leanna talked about involved traveling to Washington, Texas, and Florida so they could get a taste of which state was best for them. Instead they went to Washington and Phil bought the third condo they looked at.

The way I interpret things is Phil was the boss of Leanna, not the other way around. At least at the beginning of things.
Additionally, Phil has a well recorded history of wasteful spending, even before Leanna was in the picture. Think about the condo he's still making payments on; Leanna had nothing to do with that. Leanna had nothing to do with the money he ironically wasted on his business degree, nor all the money on the statues, or the lease on the BMW. Leanna didn't fuck him over, Phil fucked himself over, like he always does.

This shit goes as far back as him wasting his money traveling to Street Fighter tournaments across the country (and then having his parents bitch at him about doing so). To claim Leanna was responsible for Phil's biggest financial fuck up is silly. He would have handled his money poorly regardless of whether or not she was in the picture. At the end of the day, it was him who chose to run up his credit line, it was him that chose to spend all his savings, it was him who chose to move to Washington with zero understanding of the tax codes there, it was his decision to continue his life with no safety net or backup plans; Not only was he like a decade older than her, but he was the breadwinner in that relationship. All responsibility falls on him at the end of the day.

Leanna might have contributed to his stupid decision making, but Phil has always been consistent when it comes to being a fucking moron.

All my money goes on bills -
literally one day later
I need tips for games

DSP doesn't even try anymore

So Phil gets up to use the restroom, which based on on what I’ve read here, takes upwards to 20 minutes...

A few minutes later someone makes a large tip and gifts numerous subs...

Are Phil’s bills just him tipping himself and gifting himself subs?
I tend to end up at this line of thinking as well when it comes to Phil's random sub-bombs. This is a mini one, not a nuclear one like emerald7, but it's still just weird. I don't see this shit happen to anyone else. Feels like he's seeding the pot, and it definitely works.

Well in Phil's defense, he is rëtarded. He probably only moved to Renton specifically because he didn't look anywhere else. The cost of living is higher than average? Who cares! No taxes! Middle unit condo with water damage? Who cares? It has a gate and it's close by to Wendys! Why spend the week off to look for more affordable places or something more accommodating to his needs? He needed to go to restaraunts and watch DVDs in the hotel.

This man has literally put more time, effort, and research into getting a pet cat than he put into buying his home. On that note it also seems like he put zero effort into getting married. Just find the first one to say yes, what could go wrong?

Phil just makes terrible decisions. It's pretty funny.

Only really big streamers
Ninja got 100 gifted subs when offline once, I was in the chat and saw it.
However, DSP's just seem to happen at the perfect time and he foreshadowed it in a pre stream yesterday by saying ' Hopfully we meet the target' so anything is possible.
DSP does seem to get a ton of $100 tips at once though doesn't he?
Everyone be throwing those $100 bills at dsp all of a sudden ... all at once.
Just saying
ack

I can sympathize as a fellow ugly, boring dood. He probably bought that house he couldn't afford because of pressure from Leanna. And he probably wouldn't have lured Kat in without it either. You gotta do what you gotta do to get in them guts.

I think that's unlikely. If Phil were tipping and subbing himself, he'd be losing money.

Keep in mind that Phil only sees about half of the sub money that comes in. A tier sub 1 costs about 5 dollars per sub, and Phil would only see about half that or 2.50 per sub. So, Phil would spend $125 to get back 62 (rounded). The same can be said for tips. Each dollar he tips, Phil loses a little bit of money For a $100 tip, he'd lose about 1 or 2 dollars.

It is possible that he'll do it to prime the pump, so to speak, but from what I've seen, that doesn't usually work. If someone wants to correct me, feel free, but I don't think it's Phil that's doing the subbing and tipping here. It's another whale.

What's up with these unknown whales that haven't talked in chat or anything?
If you're talking about Scoopula: they've been in DSP's chat since February 2017 with no name changes. Probably a long-time fan.

-edit- Yeah... this is a die-hard fanboi.

I'm afraid this one can't be saved anymore. Too far gone.

While it does seem doubtful that Phil would be doing that, since he would be losing money. But that being said, the only thing consistent with his money woes is that an unknown always seems to come in and drop some nice cash at him. It always seems to happen too consistently. Sure you can call it the Devil's luck; but after a certain amount of it happening you have to ask if it is real luck, or if he's making his own luck.

Ah thanks for digging that up. I had never seen or heard of him but I don't watch his streams too often. It's just so hard to believe that he has die hard fans.

Phil got his ass backed down by Viscant irl. Let that sink in. Viscant. He has a well known pattern of getting trampled on by everyone in his real life. Remember how Kat was gonna be in all those videos with him? Not anymore. But Phil runs things right? Must have been his idea. The stars must have aligned and he changed his mind according to your logic.

I never said Phil wasn't ultimately responsible or that he wasn't shit with money. I have always maintained that he is absolutely terrible with and you can see that throughout this entire thread. I said she changed while discussing it online and people convinced her of WA as an option. She sold it to Phil.

Someone named Scoopula just tipped $100 and gifted 20 25 subs.
Pigroach luck strikes again.

As @Comma pointed out, scoopula's been around. I'll dig back through previous months' tips, because I recognize the name. That said, scoopula's basically Phil's income today (shoutout to mid-month payday for scoopula, I guess?). $100 of $132 total tips. $87.50 of $112.50 worth of subs. And Phil's still on pace for a below-average month. In addition, he's gotten 76 gifted subs this month and his current sub total is 510. So much for that "organic" growth, you know?

In short, it's another bandaid on a bullet hole.

More like a bandaid on an asshole...

But I digress. What really strikes me, is that the past few days he has been claiming all tips are going straight to bills even though he must have received thousands of dollars from Twitch on the 15th/16th. I think he also mentioned his bank account was overdrawn (I think it was either Thursday or Saturday). Today he also mentioned he's wondering if he's able to afford the bills in June, and that the "behind the scenes" thing plays a role in that.

What on earth could have drained his bank account within one to three days after being paid thousands of dollars? It's so odd he doesn't want to tell what it is, because normally he's very quick to use things like that as an excuse to squeeze more money out of his viewers.

I would hazard a guess to the doctor's appointment as the only thing in the last 3 days that could have potentially been expensive but I don't think those bills are due immediately because insurance has to negotiate and pay what they cover before you get your bill for services rendered?

no Phils a partner so his split is at least 60:40 as the 50/50 is for non partners.
