I hope that's not all the books she has, if it were that would be highly embarrassing. Even if you aren't an avid reader and you don't have a job that requires such, normal people have shelves full of novels, textbooks, cook books, magazines, comic books, etc all pretty quickly accumulated over time. People tend to keep their books because even though they know they would rarely if ever pick them up again, they know the books still have value. Here it looks like she just made 3 trips to Barnes and Noble and threw in her yearbook. Her shelf looks incredibly empty.

In a move I had to get rid of an entire encyclopedia set, along with a fair number of my other books, due to space constraints and knowing that even if I could afford keeping them in storage, they'd just be eaten by earwigs or some other such pest. It felt awful, but I donated them to a local cause.

Though I somehow doubt this is the case with Shoe.

I have a bunch of books on my shelf that I will read about a chapter worth of for every 15 hour audiobook I listen. Every under 40 is basically a millennial so it's a worthless term to me honestly.

I find it extremely difficult to focus on an audiobook. I read it and there is no problem. So I just stick to old-fashioned paper. None of that Kindle "we delete what we want when we want" crap.

There's a lot of people who do this kind of shit that are anywhere from their mid 20s to mid 30s that have an unexpected amount of bags under their eyes. I spend a lot of time looking at a monitor and don't get the "right" amount of sleep many nights, but even I don't come close to looking like this at 35. Drugs, alcohol? Let's be honest, some of us like real books, those who do we always display the cool/rare/interesting ones. Normal people leave out their copy of Plato, the bible, Harry potter etc, to give that image you want.
