Here is the operator saying that they are pretty sure that the stories they published of sexual harassment or worse are fake.
They made no attempt to verify the anonymous submissions.
It's just a place to vent.
99.99% of the messages are hearsay, the blog is more of a venting space.
They are not fact checking any of the stories and they encourage submissions to be vague enough so that they can't be fact checked.
The purpose of the blog is to collect stories (whether true or not) because they find them to be really, really funny.
It doesn't matter if the stories are true or not because they are always hilarious.
Despite all that, there are actually a few submissions that we can say did not happen as they were described. For example, Vic Mignogna was not a guest at Ikkicon '09, not that he did anything terrible there anyway.
Vic Mignogna was not a guest at Youmacon 2007.
Vic Mignogna was not a guest at Anime Expo 2012. Also, Vic's "religious CD of how yaoi is wrong" sounds like a recording he made of the Gospel of John.
This story is a positive one (despite the name there are many on the blog), but Vic Mignogna was not a guest at Anime Expo 2012.
Another positive experience, but Vic Mignogna was not a guest at Dragon*Con 2012.
In 2012, someone claimed that Vic was lying about his age and that he was actually 54. He had just turned 50 and is 56 at present.
The person in this "disturbing" photo has stated that Vic did nothing wrong.
There are hundreds of entries in the blog, but not all of them are horror stories. There are positive ones, petty complaints and some that aren't even about Vic.
Here's one where someone whined that he auctioned his phone off with the proceeds going to charity.
Here's a complaint about him giving an anime bunny backpack gift to his girlfriend to use.
Here is a complaint about Vic releasing an unauthorized "Director's Cut" of an episode of the Star Trek New Voyages fan film that he directed prior to it's official release.
Here's a complaint about Vic hugging a (male) cosplayer portraying his character from Ouran High School after he was doused with ice water in front of dozens of people to raise money for ALS.
Vic's on a plane
Literally pushing a girl down the "broken staircase". It could've been an accident or maybe she did it herself. Either way, he didn't check to make sure if she was OK!! This is all second hand so we need anons to confirm.
Here's an entry for a referral link. The horror.
Stalker drawing yaoi and sliding it under his hotel room door.
Legit nice guy Vic
Why isn't this man in jail?
The operator decides that they won't post underage fan fiction involving Vic anymore.
Here was a first-hand accusation from a good christian girl who was very bad.
Here is a much more serious complaint from the blog. Watch the video below to see how their account differs from what actually happened.
The saga of Knights and Mangina
Okay, this is a direct copy and paste of something I wrote in June 2012, as a comment on something deviantart, don’t sue me. Thought you might be interested.
Oh man have I got a story for you!
I was at MCM Birmingham 2012 on the Saturday, watching a Merlin panel, featuring 3 of the knights from the show Merlin. (The actors that play Percival, Leon and Elyan. Can’t remember their actual names.) Anyway I’m sitting 2 rows near the front on the far left side next to my friend, when Vic in all his douchebaggery waltzes the fuck past us and to the “backstage area”, which was pretty much a curtain and some huge ass speakers in front of where we are sitting.
Now, Percival, 6'8 and muscular as fuck is sitting at the end. He goes quiet, and starts focusing off-stage. My friend points this out. He’s slowly looking angrier and angrier (looks like he’s about to punch something), and I start to notice some high pitch whiny shouting from backstage. I don’t know what exactly was being shouted, but I can sort of make out “Fantasy Bullshit” “Off the stage” and “Piece of shit”. One of the other knights, notices this whispers to Percival (unaware he can still be heard on mic) “Ignore him mate, he’s stirring shit.”
So their panel draws to a close, all be it a litter later than expected, due to them ACTUALLY DOING THEIR JOB of being hired to sign autographs and Vic Mangina in all his glory swaggers onto the stage and straight up to Percival, who had not had chance to leave the stage. Percival looks ready to smack him in the face. There are some heated words off mic, with the other Knights trying to draw Percival away, probably persuading him that he would lose his job if he were to smack the asshole, no matter how much he deserved it. They walk away, with Percival giving one of the scariest death glares I have ever seen in my life towards Vic.
Then the creepy begins. Up on his podium, Vic presents himself as the messiah to his adoring fangirls, basking in the glory of their united high pitch squeals, tears of joy, and I am NOT joking when I say this, one girl feinted. He starts off by some usual fan-service bullshit by taking requests by crying fangirls of their favourite lines in whatever character they choose. Doesn’t matter though, they’re all pretty much the same voice for every single fucking character anyway. He then spouts some shit about the bible, and how he is so high and mighty, and how HOLY he is and EVERYONE should bow at his feet.
Me and my friend, expecting to come to a panel about actual voice acting look at each other and I say to her “This is just fan-service oh god this is creepy!!” She nods and laughs. We start making fun of his fan-service quietly, and start giggling to ourselves. Vic then looks over to me with a very disproving look. Maybe because we were not falling for his nicey-nicey routine and saw his inner asshole, maybe because I stuck out like a sore thumb in the crowd, by sporting a bitching Dovahkiin helmet. Who knows.
Anyway, the crowning moment of creepy came when some guy stood up and requested that Vic sing Happy Birthday to his girlfriend, in the voice of X character. Vic calls the girl onto the podium, and she is now shaking and crying with joy. At this point my friend says to me “She needs to get a life.” Now, Vic hugs this girl from the side, and pretty much gropes her tits from the side then starts singing into her ear, the creepiest version of Happy Birthday ever, smells her hair, then kisses her on the cheek. This girl is now bawling her eyes out in “Joy” (but I secretly hope it was actually trauma). I just feel awkward and I’m just getting massive creep vibes off this guy now. Me and my friend bail as fast as we can.
After that Vic left for a good 3 hours while his fans waited for him to return to sign autographs. Seriously, waiting in line for 3 hours. I can understand he needs food and bathroom breaks, but in the end, he was hired to sign autographs and do a panel, right? Not just fuck off and leave his fans hanging.
And that was my experience with Vic Mignogna. Will I see him again? Fuck yes, I am next week. I am going to share my experience with my boyfriend and his friends and show him, the hilarity of that man’s creepiness. I also hope there is going to be another fight this time, cause that will be fun to watch. No matter how bad you think you are, you can never come close to the egoistical creepiness that is Vic Mangina.
tl:dr Vic starts a fight with a burly man, and gropes fangirls.
This is the brand of journalism that Derek Padula is proud of. (He wrote the The Dao of Dragon Ball article.)
Just look at the quality of these submissions:
