Could've been the premier-thing. People in the comments were pissed about that and the upload schedule. It basically said "come back in 24 hours to watch the episode live with chat" when you clicked on the episode. Might've rubbed some people the wrong way. Same with Episode 2 of Phoenix Wright.

Started to watch their Twilight Princess Playthrough, because I needed some background noise for today and Dan called out Arin's SJW-ness on Episode 6 of Twilight Princess.

Arin is seriously the last person to make judgement calls on movies from 20 years ago when he (presently) actively peddles merch involving hypersexualized females that consist of titty mouse pads and dakimakura pillow covers.

Or does he think it's an exception in his case because the females are just gender bent versions of himself and Dan - somehow making it okay and there's no possible way his weird ass fandom are going to do pervy things with said merch?

It's the one thing I wish they'd listen to their fans about (the fans love it when Dan sticks up for himself and calls Arin out on his BS). Their 'algorithm issue' may resolve itself to a degree if Dan stood up to Arin more often instead of playing his largely disinterested subservient doormat.

How tf does Arin even have a SJW-y fan base? Like how did he go from Newgrounds cartoonist to this in the first place, did he see it as a way to prolong his popularity or did Tumblr folk somehow cotton onto him and where did they come from? It’s not like he’s changed/hidden his identity, he still uses the same username from his Newgrounds days/the JonTron era of GG still exists so him screaming nigger "to get it out of his system" and other exceptional acts are easy to find. Why hasn’t the mob turned on him?

Well, Arin has a history of doing weird feminist stuff. Playing as female characters, claiming his favorite color is pink, having Suzy put make-up on him. Plus they are located in California, aka liberal central. SJW's are the kind of losers that spend lots of time watching garbage on youtube. I remember there was an instance where Jon made a strange joke about Humpty Dumpty that angered the fanbase because they felt it was a rape joke. These kinds of people have always been part of the GG fanbase. I think Arin realized along the way that he was getting positive feedback for supporting "woke" ideas and kept going with it.

The mob won't turn on him because they are a bunch of self-serving hypocrites. Anyone they don't like will be chastised for eternity, but anyone they do like will be forgiven and covered with tons of lame excuses.

EDIT: When I think about it, Arin has always been fond of doing outrageous kinds of humor. One instance was when Jon was talking about meeting a kid who was a fan of normal boots at an amusement park. Arin starting asking Jon if he molested the kid at some point. I think this kind of stuff, like the weird feminist things I mentioned, was just him wanting to do ridiculous things for the sake of an easy laugh. A lot of them just happened to line up with current year SJW politics, so now he's milking it. Of course he's also done lots of bad things like using the N word, but they'll just give him free passes.

Hey at least he made some decent dumb flash toons. I enjoyed them when I was a little jimmy. Socially Arin is a product of his environment. If he shunned social justice he would be crushed, killed and destroyed. He literally lives in the den of the SJW. His fate is sealed.

Went into this thread in disbelief of the lolcow status, came out flabbergasted how I could deny the lolcow status.
I'm glad this thread exist because there is no way I'd have known how much Arin and Dan have been acting like pricks to any slight criticism. Their merch is overpriced, unfinished, yet also stolen garbage. Both manipulate their audience to get more money but use all of it to get an overpriced funhouse that comes with every collectible you could think of. And this office is solely for playing videogames? Yeah, sure it is. And now they're getting an even bigger office when they've already stated they don't have funds? There is just too much stuff here on GameGrumps to excuse all their actions towards the fans they have.
And also I am really surprised this picture was never linked here before. It's from r/gamegrumps and when I browsed that subreddit long ago. I could've sworn it was one of the top posts of all time. Now, I couldn't find it unless I specifically searched for it.

Some of the blame can be laid at Dan's feet.

Early on, he was always super quick to apologise for any joke that was even slightly risque. He would usually play off his apologies as jokes, in a sort of inside "we would never actually say that for real" kind of way. This is speculation here, but I think Dan doing that all the time made Arin either uncomfortable or just more self conscious of the 'message' he was putting out there when he made jokes. Most everyone likes to say Dan is nonconfrontational and Arin is the envelope pusher, but when it comes to his friends (Dan, in this case) I think Arin prefers to take the road of least resistance as well. Eventually, the only jokes either one felt fully comfortable with making boiled down to sex jokes and toilet humor. As time has gone on, Dan has checked out more and more to the point where it feels like he just doesn't care. Arin has amped up the tard rage and idiocy to compensate, but all it's done is make him look, well, fucking retarded.

More speculation here, but when GG started with Jon and Arin, the audience was mostly young to college age males. As of 2019, I'd say the audience is mostly young male children/teens and college age/older females. Kids tune in for the poopy dick jokes while the ladies listen for the weird innuendo and the creepy fantasy they create for themselves with Dany and maaaaybe Arin.

It's not the show we started watching for, and it never will be again. All we can do is just out the popcorn and take bets on how big the final explosion will be.

The show was always aimed for a younger audience because they have unlimited time to sit and watch and this was the kind of content arin made on newgrounds when he was a babby, the entire internet has changed these last 8 years and youtube has especially changed to cater to be television 2.
