Well it's basically a mesh of heavily-processed fish collagen that's highly biocompatible with humans. It acts as a scaffold that allows for the regeneration of site-specific cells.

The guy that did this surgery does have a case report on a neovagina he created for a woman and it was comprised of multiple layers of squamous epithelial cells. So yeah that can credibly be described as vagina-like, even though it's definitely not an actual vagina. Unfortunately he didn't do a case report on his troon patient.

So yeah basically this crazy guy from Brazil actually found the best way to create neovaginas. Poor Jazz, if only he waited a few more years before he decided to pull the trigger and get his stink ditch.

Interests-wise, the most revealing thing to me is how most troons don't want to have kids, take care of kids, work with kids, be around kids (in a non pedo way). Real girls by and large have at least some trace of a maternal instinct in there. There are coral implants used for skeletal repair, and there are also bone screws that get absorbed and replaced with normal bone tissue eventually, so they don't have to be taken out. The Vacanti Brothers also created some kind of odd mesh that can be shaped like normal tissue and seeded with stem cells that then grow into it and fill it in, so they can do things like grow replacement ears and noses.

I'm automatically suspicious of any claims involving troons, but it's not impossible that you could use some sterile tissue substitute from some other source and have it grown into and replaced by your own cells to create some replacement or entirely new thing in its place.

Apples to oranges, a department which studies cosmetic surgeries like this doesn't cross over with one concerned with neuroscience. But it's still absurd that this will get more attention and coverage than a treatment meant to correct something so severely disabling.

Yeah, it was originally developed for burn victims, where it has been incredibly effective. Brazil has almost no donor human skin to go around but they do have a whole hell of a lot of tilapia skin. It's basically a waste product from food manufacturing so it's incredibly cheap.

Stink ditches of the future will be 3D printed. But no matter how good stink ditch technology gets, men will never be able to get rid of that pesky Y chromosome and become an anime girl.

Not reddit but I just remembered from when I had a tumblr that along with the "button test" one of the supposed "tells" for being a tranny that was very commonly passed around was "if you imagined being a shapeshifter as a kid". No, seriously.

Anyway I know troons get called a leaderless cult a lot but take a look at these characteristics detailed within Steven Hassan's BITE model (yes I know it's a diagnostic tool and not a checklist, I just don't care) and tell me you don't see at least a little troonery under each category. Especially under Information, Thought, and Emotional control. Behavior is there a little but limited in its scope to what can be done without strictly interpersonal contact.

here's the emotional control section, every single one applies:

• Instill irrational fears (phobias) of questioning or leaving the group
• Label some emotions as evil, worldly, sinful, or wrong
• Teach emotion-stopping techniques to prevent anger, homesickness
