I'll be on the ground all four days. I'll make it a point to meet Vic, Reuben, definitely see Nick. If you have any questions you want me to ask, let me know.

I'll try to get a good recording of all panels of interest (though, I think they intend to stream the "For the Fans" panel).

In one of the streams Ty commented that for the amount of money the Anime Industry in the US generates its remarkably amateur. Most of the people involved don't seem to have the same grasp of the legal intricacies or even business requirements that even a small local restaurant chain would. Thats all probably going to change in the aftermath of the Weeb War. Yet another thing we can blame these idiots for. Stealing the innocence of Weeb companies.

Which in war terms. BHBH is like Guderian releasing Achtung Panzer! back in 1937 and most people ignored it. It's going to write the manual on anime industry lawfare and for this potential market's scale? It's likely in BHBH's interests to get in on the blitzkrieg.

They're going to be pretty much untouched for probably the first five years or so and thus would be the "go to" guys on the matter of an industry worth... what? A couple of billion? You get into even half a percentage point of that and BHBH is sending all their Great Grandkids to College.

(Sorry to BHBH and Ty himself, I know you prefer American Generals such as Patton, but Guderian was more apt in this comparison)

You have to remember, Ty is restricted to only conducting lawfare in Texas

I would have gone with Mahan.

No he isn't. One of the Amazons can conduct wide ranging attacks across three state lines.

I reckon he'd be eyeing up someone for Cali and NY if he wanted to go all out on this.

It's also not that hard for a practicing lawyer to get a second state license. Or else hire another partner for business in that State. I remember hearing on one of the streams Cari has a California licence though I could be wrong

unless I'm mistaken, BHBH can also apply to practice in federal districts, which lengthens their reach somewhat.

But even if I'm wrong, Texas is a huge chunk of the anime production and convention scene. For some inexplicable reason, Houston and Dallas are weeb magnets, so BHBH will be able to leverage a lot of work. I would be surprised if they aren't also gearing up to consult for law firms in other districts and jurisdictions, which is something they could offer in general terms even if there are specific differences in law and procedure.

It's because we are the largest western metropolitan areas without communist organizations known as labor unions.

Good thing you're not in Texas now is it?
Nah, but it is a good thing I'm in a place that considers workers human and allows them to have rights.

Edit: I shouldn't've said "Nah" when I agreed with your statement, it is a good thing I'm not there, but I'm running low on alcoholic beverages and I'm starting to sober up so I'm not thinking clearly.

In Texas you have the right to work without being forced into an unaccountable organization that garnishes your wages as an condition of working and then gives your money to politicians who explicitly want to take your rights away.

Now curve your autism as this is a major reason why voice acting is so big in Texas.

Getting someone on payroll that you trust and has certs for another state isn’t the hardest thing in the world if you really want it; or you could take a bit and take the Bar exam for that state. Ty is a remarkably intelligent guy. Most anime bullshit is tied up in Cali and Texas right?

They can always get local counsel and practice pro hac vice in a specific case. It only becomes an issue if you start routinely practicing in another jurisdiction without just getting a license there.

Oh of course, but if BHBH is jockeying to be the anime lawyers like some people are suggesting, it’d probably be better to have a more consistent solution.
