A few years ago they had a deal with Universal that required them to just blow off counter notifications. The fact is that YouTube does not fully comply with the DMCA. Arguably, this takes them out of the safe harbor of the DMCA, but fat chance winning anything against Google.

So what you're saying is that some people on YouTube don't know who to pick fights with. Because when I think "who do I want to go to court over copyright claims with" when I make something Universal and Disney are the first two companies on my hit list.
ANN is not Universal. They're literal nobodies in the grand scheme of YouTube.

Well it's not a win in the sense that they were never going to sue him anyways. They just wanted to fuck with him. They accomplished that.
Also, I don't think ANN can reassert the claim now without going to court can they? We all know that isn't gonna happen.

They just wanted to file a dumbass DMCA with YouTube and have his video go away. They're not going to get that.
They could probably pull some Mauer like stunt or DMCA it from a fake account, or just repeatedly make completely bogus complaints, or something else dumb like that. Idiots can always do incredibly stupid things.

I'm just... ok... this is not a good look... I don't understand how these people not know how this makes them look. Also the "stick your nose where it doesn't belong" is VERY shady. Almost as if they are hiding enough skeletons to have 5 skeletons in every room, closet, and pantry of a haunted mansion.

Depends on how much the guy who owns ANN has. Hero Hei could go after the website itself. I think that the old lady who sued youtube even won court fees simply because they didnt do a fair use analysis. Since he used DMCA wouldnt that make him subject to the US court system?

Okay why do all these fucks keep parroting this apple shit? Is it some kinda woke-ism? Do they not realize that responding to someone with a conflicting viewpoint with "eat an apple" makes them look as if they are conceding defeat and exposes them as the cunts they are? I'd guess the same reason they're all suddenly throwing milkshakes around (which started with some muslim throwing his shake at tommy robinson because it was the first thing to hand, so now a well-aimed milkshake is a symbol of speaking power to the hhhwhite patriarchal oppressors). Youtube only honours the counterclaim if the claimant doesn't respond within the alloted time. He won because ANN didn't persist in their assertion. Their next step would have been to re-assert the claim via the courts.
He also denied ANN his dox by having nick file on his behalf. Given parties similarly aligned to ANN have doxxed youtubers by filing false claims before, and given ANN's general faggotry during this whole "war", it's not unreasonable to assume that ANN only filed the claim for that purpose.
