In response to a post that responded to a post from 4/17. Still keeping up that there were more outside of the funi investigation. Wonder if she'll change her tune when she gets deposed.

As much as I think Casey is a bit scummy, I almost feel bad for him when I see literally anything MoRon say.

It's very clear he can't control Mon and Ron, since he can't seem to keep their mouths shut on Twitter. I feel a little bad for him but he signed up for these people, and we'll that's what you get.

And yet...not ONE example in their answer. Not one horrific example, not even the silly jelly bean story...and certainly not a single solitary example from Monica herself. And why on earth would someone "leak" the least offensive story....would make much more sense to leak the worst of the worst and save the milder stuff as filler and backup to the claim.

Probably because people are more likely to fill in the blanks with terrible things that go beyond what actually happened, especially if you say "all the rest were SO much worse". If your "worst" story also receives a collective shrug, then it's gonna look really bad when the follow-up is the jellybean story. If the "worst" were to be something like "he grabbed my ass behind the table during a panel", that is technically worse than the jellybean story, but not what you want to hang your hat on in context of what else happens/happened at various cons over the last 15 years.

ok, now that does make sense to me! I couldn't wrap my head around why leaking something so insignificant could give them gain. But it makes perfect sense from their angle of letting everyone's warped imaginations fill in the blanks with bigger and badder. Gross despicable people.

Thankfully I managed to raise kids past teaching them socially acceptable behaviours years ago. I worry for the day I have grandchildren and we have to sit them down before a kindergarten play date and explain that we never assume someone's identity or pronoun (just address everyone as "hey you"), we always agree with others opinions, and for god sakes NEVER TOUCH THEM!

What I like most about this amount is that, even though it seems large for a day's work, it's actually going to be what Vic can afford to tip the cabbie once the first round of lawsuits is over :tugboat: :tugboat: thanks a lot, Mr./Mrs. Soye!

Even better is it seems i even underestimated the high-end estimate. According to Nick, the dojo said there were around 500 people at the signing, and if we figure Vic's usual signing cost, that puts him at around 15000. Pretty damn impressive for a last minute location change. Meanwhile Monica could only manage to 'service' around 90 people for the whole weekend of KC I think.

These people are really laser focusing on that sperg conspiracy chart.

Davisson is a bit of an infamous translator with a massive ego who likes to top bill himself over the mangaka whose work he translates. Like if he translated the Dragonball manga he'd put "Dragonball, by Zack Davisson and Akira Toriyama" and thinks he's the reason people read these manga rather than the original author's story. He's also friends with ANN, and you can see some ANN people liking and commenting on the tweet, plus Erica Friedman, another translator who gushes about gay shit. And Shane's there too. Dominique Skye also. I guess everyones going all in on this chart being proof of something.

But hey, remember, just because a guy in the industry makes this tweet about con owners should be 'warned' immediately after the Ireland con announced Vic doesn't mean there's some kind of motive here or silly conspiracy or anything.

I checked Seven Sea's release of Devilman (which he did the translation for), and I can confirm that his name is nowhere on the cover.

To be fair, he put WAY too much effort into making that chart. Most people would've put in Monica, Ron, Jamie, Shane, maybe Bigfoot with Marzgurl's face and the Lochness monster and called it a day.

Maybe he has the decency not to put it on the book itself but he said differently a few years ago.

"I once saw someone complain that a listing for Showa: A History of Japan had it “By Shigeru Mizuki and Zack Davisson.” They complained that Davisson (me) was only the translator, and so the series wasn’t “by” him. But I think that is an accurate listing. I am also a writer, and to me the translations I do are as much “mine” as the books I write. They are “my comics.

I have a secret to tell you. If you’re ever been particularly moved by a line of dialog in a manga I translated; if something pithy spoke to you in some way, or had some meaning to you; if you thought something was cool or inspiring, or even if you laughed at a joke—that was probably me, not the original cartoonist. ” - Confessions of a Manga Translator, 2016

Are we sure Marzgurl isn't Bigfoot? She has the arms for it but notice we have never seen a pic of her feet. No wonder conspirators could never find him. He is actually a she. Also a wild creature wouldn't understand society. I think I'm onto something.

No offense, but I'd rather not see her mongoloid feet if her arms are anything to go by.
