Sorry if this post is breaking rules, I'm new here.
I have to say, this is all very interesting. I only recently became a regular lurker here, because I was only recently introduced to this shitshow by a friend.
This is basically watching a cult in action. After all the obvious lies, there isn't a single rational person on the planet that wouldn't see this for what it is: a scam built on lies. But they WILLINGLY decide to ignore the truth and convince themselves DSP is honest, and they voluntarily devote themselves to him, believing his word against a pile of actual evidence. I believe they all know deep down Phil is using them, but as I said; this is an actual cult in action. Phil offers them something they need: a submissive position in a "private community". They don't have to think for themselves and they have a place they "belong", as part of a pack that is secluded from "the rest". Outside of that community, they're nobodies. But within that community, if they manage to appease the great leader and get his approval... then they're important.
I believe that is why you have minimum wage workers throwing all their hard-earned cash at him. Part of our culture has a huge problem in my opinion: a lot of people live through the achievements of others. It's like celebrities, but on a much smaller scale here. When there is a financial crisis and Phil miraculously makes it anyway, then THEY achieved that.
"Did you see how Phil was able to continue being a streamer thanks to me throwing half my salary at his fat ass? I mean, any attention he gets from here on out will be thanks to me! I achieved that!"
The perfect example is with all those games being bought for him lately, or the codes being thrown at him. "Did you see him play that Nioh 2 beta?? He got that thanks to me! He got to stream that because of me!". "You enjoyed watching him play A Plague Tale? I recommended and even bought him that game! If I hadn't done all that, you wouldn't have been able to enjoy that!"
As I said, even though they didn't achieve anything, they live through Phil's achievements (yes, I use that word VERY loosely here), because they "helped him". However, this is all just my train of thought about all this. This is why - to me - this is all quite interesting. Mind you: I also believe no one here should try to show Phil's true nature to any of his "followers" (as I have seen a lot of people try on Twitter). No doubt, Phil is a huge piece of shit the likes of which I have rarely seen, but all the evidence of this has been plastered all over the internet. If you ignore all of this, don't have the mental capacity to realize it yourself and still decide to go broke for his sake, you deserve it and I have no sympathy for you whatsoever. I would let things run naturally; they will all keep throwing their money down a bottomless pit, learn a valuable lesson (which might very well come way too late, but better late than never) and Phil will crash and burn when the time comes, and he will crash and burn HARD.
The puerile reason I'm here is that I simply enjoy watching this shitshow. It was either watching actual baboons throw literal shit at eachother on National Geographic or watch... well, retarded baboons throw money at Phil, and believe it or not, the actual baboons look way smarter in the middle of their Civil Dungwar than those idiots look trying to appease mister Uberbabonian Snortmonger. So thanks for the ride boys, I'll be in the backseat for now.
Edit:
I love the fact that some term is automatically replaced by the term "exceptional". It's a nice touch.
