I personally consider every zoophile a zoosadist, because the idea of wanting to abuse a creature weaker than you can you can't get human sex is sadistic and cruel.
As for the dark web? Yes. It's horrible. There are whole rings of human trafficked slaves being used to produce zootapes which are traded and sold. How do I know this shit? I was working with someone on a book about the whole thing since I know my shit in terms of animals as a scientist. It's truly, utterly, horrible. You guys don't know how deep this shit goes, and if people somehow escape from it, they are stalked and threatened for the rest of their lives to keep quiet.
So, even if 'ethical' zoophiles know it or not, they are perpetuating and normalizing things a lot more than dog fucking.

I was a witness of the horror that was Animal's Dark Paradise, a forum where one of Kero's deceased ex boyfriends (I think) Illone Sheppypaws or some shit, was a regular user, poster, and content creator.

That last one might be the few times I side with the furry a-log, because he’s arguing with a sick fuck that raped a dog. The one thing he’s right about is that zoosadism is different from your standard fare of animal fucking, but it doesn’t mean one is good and the other is bad. They’re both bad, but one is simply worse. It’s the difference of semantics because one is just an extension of the other, and the root topic (zoophilia) is already bad. It’s more a matter of who gets the slow and painful death versus the quick and easy one.
On a separate topic, I think it’s worth noting that using these blanket statements towards furries kind of harms their willingness to clean their own community up. I’ve seen so many see bad shit happen and their first thought is “I hope this doesn’t get heard of outside the fandom.” I think part of it comes from how people just go directly to an “all [insert group here] are like this” mentality straight away regardless of the group. It makes people unwilling to let shit like that out and fix it because then they’ll get grouped in with them. It’s not right, mind you. It’s an extension of enabling, and that’s inexcusable, I agree. That said, I think sometimes it’s worth examining the why of it because it might yield how to fix the problem.
That said, dox the dogfuckers and their apologists. Sick fucks like that should have no place in any community.
