not to defend her,but there are some VAs who eventually treat it as a side job and prefer to focus on other stuff.
David Hayter,for instance,was more active as a voice-actor in the 90's(having some prominent anime roles like Tamahome in Fushigi Yuugi,Lupin in the second dub of Castle of Cagliostro and Bernie in Gundam War in The Pocket.Curiously he was mostly credited as Sean Barker in those roles,the identity of Guyver,a character he played in a Guyver movie.),but after taking off thanks to Snake,he decided to porsue more of a career of doing screenwriting,only getting some sporadic roles here and there(he will be in Bloodstained).
Amanda was more active in the 90's(her debut was Devil Hunter Yohko,which was also ADV's very first dub. produced) but after she moved out to LA in the early 00's,she slowed down(and even more after she gave birth to a son with health issues,though he seems to be well these days...other than the fact he has her as a mother,that is...)and founded a recording studio called Gaijin Productions, but there's barely info about it and I don't even know if it still exists.I only found they recorded Burn Up Xcess,the Read or Die OVAs,the two Evangelion movies(in which she directed and became infamous for certain questionable choices and the audio commentary) and Dead Leaves(in which both her and her husband played the main leads,who are also a couple.) and that's it.

You can tell nobody gives a shit about AWL when Mike Toole and Jessie Thotwhore rate blue checkmarks, but she doesn't.

Which is funny because she actually has objectively done more things of note than either of them. It's just that her career apex was 20 years ago, and she's such a burnout her extreme wokeness can't even reverse it.

The only thing I remotely remember her from was Persona 4, and even then I played it with Japanese audio just to avoid her hoe voice.

Those of us that are pushing 40 remember her well from her fairly long stint at A.D. Vision. She legitimately accumulated a lot of credits. For better or worse.

But that's precisely the point. The follow-on generation of anime fans have no idea who the fuck she is (with the exception of some Persona fans that can be arsed to research voice talent).

And it will only get worse as Netflix redubs Rei for the TV series, as Funimation did for the movies. Evangelion was her last best hope of staying relevant, because it's one of a handful of 90s anime that continues to have cultural relevance. Nobody is going to give a shit about the out-of-print ADV DVDs.

Yeah, I agree. It's odd that she picked this niche market to throw away all of her credibility on, but as you mentioned, some of us in the younger generation don't have a clue who she is. Even as someone who watched Evangelion, I still didn't remember her because she just wasn't....notable.

Anyways, hope you get better dude. Don't overdo it.

As long as Atlus keeps whoring out Persona 4, she'll keep having at least part time work. Even though 4 came out over a decade ago; the recycling of it with the anime, P4 Golden, P4 Arena (two of them), P4 Dancing, and then Blaz Blue Cross Tag has seen her continue the roll of Yukiko. But outside of that, most of her recent rolls have been with games Nippon Ichi releases, and most of those are for the weebiest of weebs.

I wouldn't call anything Satoshi Urushihara does very deep. Pretty, yes. Intellectual and nuanced, no.

His tits are epic, but the rest isn't half bad either. Unfortunately, he's pidgeonholed on the tits. I liken it to a porn actress never being accepted as a mainstream actress, regardless of talent. Most of them would probably suck, but there's also a stigma.

To that end, I really wish Urushihara would have done more non-hentai shit. He's got talent. Langrisser has gorgeous character artwork, and the tits are covered. Also check out Cybernator/Assault Suits Valken. Pity he hasn't done more in that vein.

As for AWL, she's just another person who enjoyed success as somebody you'd actually like to hang out with (she was legitimately fun, to a point, in the 90s), and has enjoyed considerably less success being woke. The lesson is lost on them.

He also did key animation in stuff like the original Transformers cartoon (including the movie). Basically, he's been criminally underutilized, IMO. Which leads most people to believe he's only good at tits.

Google image search Satoshi Urushihara, but turn safe search ON. The girls are great even with their clothes on.

One of my favorite chara designers. Tits or no.
