I had a relative that was munchie by junkie for a short time. They had surgery. They acquired sepsis. Everyone was like what? How? Extreme fevers. Person acting like they dont know what is going on. Then they acquired fungal sepsis. This is even more dangerous than bacterial. It can also cause blindness. . They ended up repeatdly getting sepsis. I'm over here thinking they must have AIDs. Then the doctors notice some white shit around her picc. She was hiding the pain pills in her mouth and then crushing them up and using a flushing syringe a nurse left lying around to put it in herself. The doctors had to have a babysitter in the room with her 24.7 after they figured it out.
The weird part was the relative acted like she had no clue why she kept getting infections. I think it was half junkie half suicidal. The level of WTF when I found out the truth was to a level I've never felt since then. I was kind of mad. Had me over here bringing her ice cream thinking she's going to die from natural causes.
She healed and was never munchies since.
People in this thread keep say saying sepsis patients often aren't conscious. She was. Only time she wasn't all there was during the deadly fever moments, when your brain starts to cook itself. But even then she was still semi-conscious. Death by sepsis is probably rather unpleasant. I would assume it is like having an extreme flu.
