Okay bröthers I hope I can ask for your help on this one

I'm also catching up on episodes and I'm trying to just watch the juicy bits because I don't have all that much time. But when I try to look up the "best episodes" on the internet, I just get all the most emotionally charged ones when I'm looking for lulz.

So which episodes are iyo the lulziest?
Already got Schenee, James K, and Steven/Justin down.

Lisa had some amusing moments.

My kid siblings used to watch this show constantly for the lulz (before I cared about it) and one of their favorites was this one woman who would say "ouchie" and "owie" at every minor instance of pain. Not sure which one it is.
That was Pauline. She has a few update episodes. She’s a major whiner and believes that Dr. Now is unfair and mean. She lost quite a lot of weight, but she still won’t walk.

Angie J, Lupe, and Kirsten. Angie J's a colossal bitch whose entire life is a disaster (even for this show), Lupe's boyfriend made her have sex with him when she was still recovering from surgery, made her stitches burst, and then cheated on her, and Kirsten is a whiny brat who sat naked spread eagle while her preteen son walked in and handed her a drink, and was so fat she couldn't fit into a car, and broke a hotel/motel bed when she sat on it.

All absolute trainwrecks, all hilarious.

Penny is a real class act. She qualifies for surgery but is upset at the fact she has to diet. She still can’t walk two years after surgery, unnecessarily needs an oxygen tank and claims she’s a better mom than working moms.

Janine is hilarious. She drove her scooter through McDonald’s. She sobbed uncontrollably trying to get on a plane and went to the hospital twice. She also was so fat she had to go to another hospital for a more powerful X-ray. Her update is next week.

Sean was the fattest person on the show (he wound up at 1003 lbs at one point). His mom had munchausens and deliberately overfed him. He also thought a good compromise for dieting was eating fast food only once a day, and wound up gaining 100lbs. He had two follow ups.

Ice Cream blowjobs

Sean was funny but also kinda depressing because you can just tell that his freudian sociopath of a mom intentionally turned him into a dependent manbaby

The funniest part was her wiping her ass with salad tongs
I don't know if you're familiar with Bobby Marley, a comedian from Maine. He also appeared in Boondock Saints 1 & 2. Anyway, he does a bit in one of his routines about his cousin Wayne who got so fat he said to Bobby "Can't wipe myself no more. Gotta use salad tongs." And Bobby asks "How do you let your self get salad tong fat?"

If the episode is about a black woman 9 out of 10 times it’s hilarious/frustrating. Schenee, LaShaunta, Lisa, and Tanisha are all good episodes.

Milla’s is blood boiling since she adopted a horde of children to be her care takers. Her oldest and biological son is just fed up with her shit and what she’s doing to his siblings.

I gasped out loud when it was mentioned Lee hit Rena in the head with a fucking frying pan and Lola had the nerve to tell him he should have adult tantrums. He’s doing that already. “I wasn’t trying to hit her, I was just destroying the kitchen and she got in the way.” This woman is a quack, tells people to reconcile with their abusers (a favorite of hers in season 7) and tell abusers it’s okay to lose their temper. There’s other shit she tells the patients that is questionable I forgot who it was, but it was one of the difficult patients Lola told to be selfish sometimes when the patient was always selfish. Or when she told Brandon not to judge his father for cheating on his mom. The subreddit recently dug up that Lola is getting a PHD in “jungian studies” from a diploma mill.

After Rena broke up with Lee during the filming of their WATN they got back together only for Lee to cheat and now they might have gotten back together. I don’t know who has the worst relationship Rena and Lee or Lupe and Gilbert.

Holy shit, I started the first few minutes of Rena and Lee's episode but didn't finish it, now I got to.

Christ, I didn't realize Lola was that bad. Please tell me Dr. Paradise is legit, I liked how he caught onto Steven Assanti's game immediately.

The domestic abuse was like barely touched upon, I know the taped sessions are ambridged versions of probably multiple sessions but telling an abuser that his anger is okay to give into is awful fucking advice no reputable therapist would give. She even contradicted conventual therapeutic advice that hitting pillows isn’t an effective means to control anger. She acknowledges that other therapists wouldn’t give that advice.

Even if an abuser just flails around hitting walls and shit it’s still an act of intimidation. Lola shouldn’t be taking clients who are abusers or have suffered a abuse, she’s utterly incompetent. I can’t believe even in their first episode they allowed an abuser to have couples counseling with his victim. It’s well documented that abusers take what is said during sessions and use it as a weapon.

The subreddit has a lot of therapist commenting on the therapy shown on show and from what I can gather Dr. Paradise is legit. Everyone turned on Lola hard this past season.

I never liked Lola between her grating baby voice and her way of handling patients. If I had her as a therapist I'd flounder. If you said you disliked her last year you'd be downvoted to hell on the subreddit. I'm glad that other people are finally seeing the light. Always preferred Doctor Paradise. He knows what the hell he's doing. Wish he was on the show more. Whenever I see Lola I feel the need to mute or fast forward.

As for whether Lee and Rena or Lupe and Gilbert is the worst couple, damn that is a tossup. Lee and Rena were kicked out of a weight loss center after starting their relationship there, plus Lee has constantly shit on Rena's progress to be a selfish abusive baby. Gilbert not only cheated on Lupe but also forced her to have sex with him shortly after skin surgery, causing her sutures to rip open. Dis is a very bad situation either way.

Lupe doesn’t seem to be all there, like in some sort of mental health crisis judging by the incomprehensible shit she posts on Instagram. Her posts are very reminiscent of someone I know who has schizoaffective disorder and is mentally retarded. You can tell a lot about someone from how they communicate through written language. It’s not unusual or unheard of for mentally retarded women to be taken advantage of.

For some positivity on this fine Sunday, I found a piece by The List with some "then and nows" of past 600 Lb Life folks. Mobile isn't showing a date for when this was published.

Really great for these people, especially the one who got to have kids and speaks at events about her story. Some of them actually look kind of freaky now but hey at least they aren't 600 pounds anymore.

One of them, Amber Rachdi, sheds some light on what it was like working with the TLC crew (whether or not we should believe her, I'm not sure, but apparently it was so bad she didn't want to show off her new self in a follow up episode).

Sean’s final episode was last night:
  • Choice Quote from Dr Now: “Your shower isn’t too small you’re too big.”
  • Sean gained 188 pound in two munt, lost it, then he gained 278 POUND IN LESS THAN TWO MUNT
  • He came into $10k and blew $9k on food and vidya and toys. House is a full blown hoard
  • Pretty sure he had green/black mold/fungus on his feet
  • The hospital is unfair because they control his diet
  • He still went on and on about how unfair it was that a 26yr old couldn’t get into a nursing home
  • Grandfather when he found out Sean died: “oh,ok”

therapists should not take couples with abuse issues, but most of them do. Their education is about empathizing and shared problem solving so they aren't the right professionals for dealing with abusers, but they don't know that unless they get really specific education about it. Most of them should probably be required to sit in on an abuser class (like the opposite of a therapists office- no confidentiality, tons of judgment and accountability, etc) to see what they need to refer out to, but they aren't. A very competent therapist can fuck this up tbh, its specialist knowledge unfortunately.
